I have a standard 9-5 m-f job, but during peak times or depending on how I schedule my week I have to work weekends sometimes.
I'll probably work for a few hours tomorrow night to keep Monday a bit easier to manage!

Ya, I work a few weekend mornings every month. 6-10 or 6-12!

I probably work 1-2 weekends/year. Definitely one of the perks of my job! DH doesn't work weekends either except he has to go to Saturday commencement ceremonies twice a year.

No. D and I work stacked schedules during the week, so we're especially grateful for weekends off together.

I just finished a project a few minutes ago. I'm a freelancer, so I work weekends, evenings or whenever I need to in order to meet a deadline.

I work every other Saturday right now, which is an adjustment for me, but oh well. DH is on call every other weekend so we can't really make plans anyway.

@mrsjyw: Yup. I'm a lawyer and I frequently have meetings or lunches during the week which requires me to work parts of some weekends to make up hours. Working today! Not complaining though because my job is very flexible.

kind of - I decide the hours I am going to put in for my business, and to heck if anything gets done while the girls are up. So I do naps all 7 days, and sometimes if DH happens to be home on weekends I'll get some stuff done too.

Depends on what projects are going on...right now, I'm working a little bit on the weekends to clean up one of our products (that I had worked on several years ago and have the most experience on out of the people still in our group) that got really out of date.

Almost never, and if I do, it's by my choice. My husband regularly works them, though.

Yes especially during the summer. But if I work Saturday I try not to work Sunday. This summer will be awesome since I am only shooting 1/4 of the weddings I usually do so I can spend more time with the babe. Photo shoots are usually weekday evenings and I get editing/emailing done when I have time. I get real weekends in the summer for the first time in 7 years!

Yes! I work from home and it is easy for me to get hours in on Saturdays when DH is off work. I usually sneak in about 3 hoirs.

I do work on Sundays sometimes but probably won't when LO gets older.

@mrsjyw: I have this weekend off, but then I work the next 4

I'm required to work 4 weekend shifts per month. Lately I've been doing them in doubles so it just uses up 2 (very long) weekend days. Not my favorite!

Pretty much never. Mon-Fri are long and, olenty. I'm thankful for the breaks on the weekends.

I was working nights and weekends part time from home while I cared for #1 during the day. Now #2 is here and I'm a full time SAHM.

Since I freelance, I work when I can and Sunday night is usually a time when I can get a lot done.

Yes, im required to work 4 weekend shifts a month, so I do every other weekend. Sometimes I will work more weekend days , or pick up my coworkers shifts because we get paid more hourly when working weekends, and get a $100 bonus if we work more than 4 weekend shifts a month.

I work every Sunday 6 am - 6 pm and it kinda sucks. I do get 3-4 day weekends every week though so I can't complain too much.

@mrsjyw: Nope, and I LOVE it. Neither DH or I work weekends, same goes with a lot of our friends and family so that works out nicely for planning things.

Absolutely not. I've learned to "turn it off" the moment I leave my desk. I try very hard not to think or worry about what's going on at work...it will be there in the morning.

Rarely, but if things are really crazy I sometimes have to. It's OT though, so ok I guess.

In the past sometimes I'd take some work home but with a baby now, heck to the no!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Absolutely not. My company took away working from home so I have taken away all extra work I used to do on my own time. I enjoy my weekends without looking or thinking about work now.

Every 5th Saturday I work 10-4, but I get a day off in lieu the for working my Sat shift

Yup, I'm a wedding planner, so I work 15 - 20 weekends a year, depending on how booked I am. Nervous for my first wedding of the season in a few weeks and it will be DHs first time alone with LO for about 10+ hrs!
