Yes. We've been paying off our roof, but this is the last month. Hopefully the worrying will end!
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
Not so much these days as we're pretty comfortable. I don't worry about it, but I'm still very concious of what we spend. DH and I will easily rack up a pretty impressive credit card bill by the end of the month if we don't pay attention.

Yes!! Money is pretty tight for us, especially now that we just got a dog. But We are both happy, and it's what we wanted. We are making ends meet, and some months I'm not sure where the money comes from, but we always have just enough!

Yes, especially now that are are going to a higher mortgage, having to pay utilities (included in HOA fees at the condo), and day care starting in June. At least I feel good that we have a renter for the condo to cover that mortgage payment.

Yes and no.
No because I know we're doing fine. Yes because I'm a total saver and the hubby is a total spender so it upsets me sometimes on his purchases that I think are unnecessary or purchased at inappropriate times. Plus, we have a LO on the way now.

The past 6 months we have finally reached a sweet spot where student loans and mortgage are only debts, and we have making big progress on all of our savings goals. I don't worry, so much, as wish we could reach those goals quicker.

All the time. DH is not as good with money as I am, and I am a total saver. When it comes time to spend, I freak out a little.

Yes, we are trying to figure budgeting out for what works for us. Loosing my income for the last four years has been difficult.
nectarine / 2127 posts
No. I keep an eye on my spending and adjust if I know there's going to be a not-typical expenditure coming up (like a new set of tires or a trip) but I have a pretty comfortable emergency fund. DH manages his finances separately but we both have the same outlook and goals so he does pretty much exactly what I do lol.

Not really. I have automatic savings set up and I keep an eye on my spending! I could always do better...

I do right now, just because I can't seem to figure out the best way to space out bills. We make more than enough to pay for everything, but when all of my bills are in a 9 day span, it's rough. I need to hire an accountant for a day lol
honeydew / 7589 posts
Yes, always. Every day. We are on an extremely low income right now, and it's scary.
honeydew / 7917 posts
Yes, I worry but try my best not to. DH does a great job keeping track of our expenses in a spreadsheet and has the year pretty much planned out based on previous years (cost of electric, gas, mortgage, etc). Since we are living off just his income, it is difficult for me to relax and not think about money. He will let me know if we are particularly tight for a certain month (when insurance hits with other misc. bills that take out more $ in the account than usual).

Not "real" worries but of course I don't go around spending like there is no tomorrow.
I've always been used to getting what I want and money has never been an issue. That being said: I don't just buy something because everyone has it or I won't just buy something if I don't need it. For example, right now I want a fancy new washer & dryer. We can totally afford it...but the ones we have are totally fine. So, i'll wait, because it is not a necessity. And when we do buy, i'll shop around like crazy first for the best price. Just because we have it does not mean I need to spend it. Because, God forbid one year we don't do so well, I want to have something cushiony to fall back on. And coming from a religious place, I feel like if I take the things He blesses me with for granted, God won't be 100% pleased with me.

I do because we are about to spend our life savings on a condo and the thought keeps me up at night, but we really don't have a choice.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
Yes. But only because I'm crazy. We are comfortable and paying our bills is never a struggle. But I freak out about things like "what if M is a genius and goes to Harvard. It'll be $60k a year by the time she starts... How am I going to save enough for that?!?"
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
Yup. Living off one income can be kinda rough at times. I think it's more of a far-off worry for me... like, it seems like everything will be alright but are we really gonna be able to pay for the kids' college educations, weddings, etc, etc and still save up for retirement?

Typically not a ton, I mean we having savings goals so I worry about hitting those quickly enough, but we have very minimal bills, just our mortgage and his car payment, I'm also a bargain shopper (just by nature) so I don't really worry, but we are in the middle of a home reno right now and in the midst of that I found out I'm pregnant, so I am currently a bit stressed about money.
pear / 1571 posts
Yes and no. Yes because there's not a whole lot left after bills and necessities at the end of the month and I worry about not being able to save enough. But also no because I know exactly where our money is going every month and I know we're not being stupid with what we have, and also, I'm an eternal optimist and I figure that sooner or later, if we keep working our butts off and being frugal, we'll have more to put into savings.

@Mrs. Cat in the Cradle: Yes! If I didn't have my monthly student loan payment I think I'd worry less. So, I'm assuming I will worry less about money in 20 years

Yes, we have enough to live comfortably, but I want us to be more than comfortable.

@mrsjazz: It hurts. Both my husband and I haven't really seen a good return on our education investment. So we keep on trying ... maybe eventually!

Not at all. We are good with our money and for that we are rewarded with security!
pear / 1698 posts
No, I'm a saver and DH is a spender so we have separate accounts. I keep a good amount in my emergency fund at all times that he can't touch Its enough to pay our mortgages for more than a year which makes me feel pretty secure.

Not one bit! It's silly to ever worry about money! Kidding. It's a normal fact of life for most. Sucks that most aren't as fortunate as others.
pomegranate / 3160 posts
Yes. All. The. Time. Being an adult is super lame sometimes...
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6581 posts
Every day. Until we got pregnant, not so much. Now that I am, it is a constant worry for me.
