... ask about your LO? How often?
I've been back from maternity leave for 7 weeks now and my boss has not asked about my baby one single time. Ever. Neither has my one direct co-worker.
They don't have to care, and we don't have to talk about my baby all day. But it would be good for morale if they asked once in a while.

I don't have a LO, but I think that's weird. Whenever my co-workers or people who have worked for me came back from maternity leave, I always asked about their LO's. I am still asking about co-workers' LOs and they are walking and talking now. I'm sorry that your co-workers are being inconsiderate!

They ask how she's doing, but she's still in-utero. I'm sure once I come back from mat leave they will ask still.

They talk to each other about personal life - like what they did on the weekend, how is my co-workers wife, congratulating my co-worker on buying a house last week, etc.
Nothing about me, my family, my LO, my stepkids who were with us for a month, etc.
The work environment has been terrible since I came back from maternity leave.

Ugh, that's depressing! My boss and coworkers don't ask about Xander all that often, but they do sometimes - maybe once every other week or so.

Every once in a while. If they don't ask about your LO, I assume that they don't talk about their families much either? Just a thought . . .
I try not to bring up my LO when I am at work . . . because I want them to know that I am *back* and I don't want to mommy track myself by always talking about my LO (even though I could do it all day every day!).

that is weird!!! yes, my coworkers and boss ask about my LO all the time. but i also work for a very small company...about five people in the office so we're all pretty close.

I see my pregnant co-worker once per week and I ask her every time how she is doing. That's odd that they NEVER ask!

@cmomma17: that's really weird - did something happen that you can think of that would make them exclude you like that?
My coworkers ask about LO on an almost daily basis - I've always figured that part of it is that it is easy small chat when we're in the kitchen, waiting for the elevator, etc...I guess it's nice that everybody remembers I just had a baby!

everyday. The whole department had a 2 hour lunch with DD when she came to stay with me for the day. I work in a very family friendly place.

Aww, that's annoying! They could at least ask once a month or something..
On the plus side, I'm 36 weeks pregnant and just got a Dr.'s note to start WFH and one of the biggest reasons I'm psyched about it is because of the CONSTANT comments/questions I get from coworkers! I know I'm about to have a baby, but can we talk about something other than my body?? lol!

Coworkers do, my boss asks how her appointments go when I leave early for them but that's it, and I think that's okay!

Well, there has been some drama since I returned from mat leave. She gave me trouble about pumping and I had to get HR involved, then I took it all the way up to the Presidents office.
But I guess it doesn't matter anymore, because she just resigned!!!!!

The coworkers/boss at my old job were like family to me, so they would ask often, since most of them have kids at similar ages. This company, not many have kids so no one really asks.

Yeah but we're a baby crazy bunch. Of 11 staff, 6 people had kids in 2012! We're always swapping baby stories. back and forth.

ehhh sometimes. not often. My new supervisor just asked about my son for the first time today, but she just got hired and I first asked about her grandchild.
We don't have a ton of time to socialize at work.
