My aunt told me yesterday that my Gram thinks she gets free books on the Kindle from McDonald's. Why? Because that's where she goes to get free wifi. Hahaha.

Yep! My grandmother is constantly on Facebook. She also texts really well and even knows texting acronyms. It is really quite impressive considering that she is in her seventies.

@mediagirl: Haha that made me lol!
No, my grandma has no idea how technology works. DH's step-grandma has a facebook though so she is pretty good at it, but she is only in her 60's.

My grandmother is 84 and spent a good half hour last week telling me how much she loves Amazon prime and that she watched all of Downton Abbey season one on streaming. She has an iphone, ipad, and macbook pro. She's amazing!

I dont have any living grandparents but my parents barely get tech things. My mom still calls her emaill address her "internet number" and she calls any web browser "the email place"

My grandma understands it but doesn't use it. My late grandpa was a huuuuuge tech freak, and I loved it. He was obsessed with digital cameras and photoshop, and loved messing with his ham radios. He would have really loved all the new tech in the last 5 years.

Don't know if my grandma (in her 80s) understands technology, but it did scare me when my dad got her an ipad so she could read the Korean news in larger text. Knowing her, she is probably shopping online and stuff.

i only have one grandparent left, but she uses her computer & reads on her kindle. maybe she has more items now, i wouldn't know. she uses email to avoid speaking to people. my nana who died recently had my old imac & could email & liked getting photos emailed to her. she briefly had a facebook, but all the updates overwhelmed her, so she got rid of it.

My grandfather sends emails and I assume knows more about computers.
My grandmother never had a computer or anything similar. I asked once what she thought about getting one and she told me she didn't need one but maybe she'd get one as long as we didn't try to make her go on a dating website.

Unfortunately, yes. My moms parents are pretty average - can use the computer and just got an iPad, but my dad's mom screenshots every photo I post on facebook and reuploads it as her own!! instead of just 'sharing' it. SO ANNOYING.
