My mom says that Mr. Bee does a lot of childcare. In her generation/culture men generally didn't do much childcare. Although my dad actually did a lot.... just not when we were really little like Charlie and Olive.

They think he's awesome and yes, to them, an involved father is something to recognize because many Arab dads are not as hands on (very involved but not hands-on like: diapers and packing a diaper bag for example).

Very positively!! They comment on how he's such a great dad, so sweet, etc... We all agree he'll likely be the favorite uncle too

The last comment we got was when my husband took parental leave. My dad said it would be bad for his career, and couldn't believe I would "make" him do that. And not to mention how bad it would be for the baby!

Yea, usually with a look of surprise and awe at how involved and attentive he is. It just wasn't the norm in their generation!

Yup, my mum says what a great daddy-daughter relationship he and lo have already. And she's said multiple times how awesome it is that he's there to help me out changing diapers etc. (my mum was a single parent so makes her appreciate dh even more)

Our moms say that I am lucky that he is involved and can take care of the kids by himself. Both of our dads were not hands on.

I've only heard positive things. DH did a lot while I was in the hospital and I know they noticed that.

Yeah, all positive though...they think he's a really hands on, entertaining Dad as he spends pretty much all of his free time with her.
