I was surprised that a number of people said that their parents nor inlaws have the key to their place! I see the logic but it could make privacy tricky!
Do your parents or inlaws have keys to your house? Do they just hold a spare copy for you, or do they ever use it?

Nope. They don't live nearby so if they wanted to visit, it would have to be planned out.
That being said, my mom knows the code to our garage but again would never use it unless she was staying with us.

My parents do but they are the main baby sitters so they're at the house when we're not. They never open the door if we don't answer. In-laws do not have a copy though.

Yes! DHs parent don't as they're halfway across the country, but my parents definitely do.
However we did just switch to a keypad lock.....and I am not sure anyone remembers the keypad off the top of their head but us!

My in-laws do, however, we bought DH's grandfathers house and never changed the locks. They've come in a couple times when we were at work to drop off paper work when they house was still in trasition but DH always knew about it first. My MIL is very very big on making sure we have privacy and that she isn't overbearing.
My parents live 2 hours away. However, my mom knows our garage code and where the spare key is hid. Again, would never let herself in if we didn't already clear it.

Parents and inlaws live out of state so they dont have a key. Bil and dh's BFF have keys though

My FIL does, but he only uses it if we need him to come over and let the dog out (if we are going to have a long day). He has never and would never come over without calling first.
My parents also know our code to open the garage, which then gives them access to the house. But once again they would never come over unannounced (especially because they live an hour away).

My ILs do because they're our landlords, haha. We have a spare key we often give my parents so they could check on our dog.

No. We rent so our property manager has the other set of keys.
If we owned, they might, or my sister could.
I would never ever worry about them taking advantage of it.
I still have a key to my parents house and I let myself in whenever I want to 
I also have a key to their car, but I always ask if I can use it first.

My parents know the code to beep in and my MIL has a key. She uses it to feed the cats when we're on vacations. My parents use it if they drive into town before I'm off work. Nobody has ever shown up unannounced, nor would they.

No, they don't since they do not live in the same state or continent. If my parents lived nearby, we would give them keys, probably.

Heck no for the inlaws, they would totally come into our house when we were gone and go through our stuff.
Mine don't either, but I would consider it for emergencies.

My MIL has keys but only uses them if she's watching the house while we're on vacation or something. Our neighbours also have a house key as we (ok, I) do sometimes lock myself out.
We've never had a boundary issue with the in-laws having a key. They're very respectful.

Not yet, but we'll probably make copies. I trust my family with keys. Common courtesy still applies.

Mine do because I have an unfortunate habit of locking myself out, and for when we go on vacation and stuff, but they never use it unannounced. They don't even keep them on their key ring, just in a safe place at home.

Nope but our parents both live a plane ride away. I would be OK with my parents having a key but not my in laws. Boundaries aren't their forte.

Both do, though neither would ever come over without asking first. It's mostly for emergency use, or to do us favors or watch the house if were out of town

My FIL has a copy of the keys, but he has never had to use them. My younger sister stays with us occasionally, and she has a copy as well. Unfortunately my parents have taken the key from her and open my front door without calling before or knocking. Oye.

My parents live in a different country so no. ILs live in a different state, so they don't have one either but BIL lives in our building and he has one for dealing with mail when we go away etc.

My parents have a key/garage door opener, but they don't use it to "drop in." Future husband and myself both travel for work from time to time, so we'll enlist them to bring in/out the garbage cans, get packages from outside and bring 'em in, etc.

only my mom because she's close and sometimes picks stuff up from my place. It's actually a good thing because DH forgot his keys, was locked out and I was over 40 mins away. He stopped by my mom's to grab her key.
Even our Next door neighbor has a key.

My mom has a key and she drops by pretty often to drop things off. If we're home she'll always ring the doorbell and won't come in if we don't answer. If our cars aren't outside she'll text and make sure it's okay that she goes in.

MIL has a key because she lives close by. I accidentally locked my car keys in the trunk so it's nice to know she could go to the house and get spare set for me or any other emergency like that

No, but we have a key to my husband's parents home (50 minutes away). Having a key to my parents home doesn't do us any good as they're a plane ride away.

I believe the in-laws and BIL have spare keys. No one comes unannounced though, so it's not at all a problem. In fact, it's pretty convenient for when we're out of town and his dad checks on the house.

I'm divorced and my parents want a set of key to my place - and my dad would expect to use it - not sure how to tell them i'm not happy about it - or am i being unreasonable?

Yep, my parents have a set of keys even though they live 3 hours away. It has come in handy though for when they come to visit and DH are running late or stuck in traffic. They never just come unannounced. It is always a planned trip and they let us know if they are going to let themselves in.
