DS: estimate 7lb5oz, birth weight 8lb12oz
DD: estimate 7lb4oz, birth weight 7lb12oz

With DS I didn't have an ultrasound after the 20 week anatomy scan. With DD I was having growth ultrasounds once a month through the end.

They were bang on this time, said in the high 9 pounds and she was 9 pounds 10 ounces.

My doctor would never estimate on the size... he would just tell me it's a "small" or "medium" sized baby. He said ultrasounds can be off by 25%, so that leaves a HUGE amount of room for variation in size.

Way off. They expected 7-7 1/2 lbs, and H was 10 lb 12 oz

I have an ultrasound at my 40 week due date and they estimated 7 pounds 11 oz. I delivered the very next day and she was 7 lbs 1 oz.

My doctor never told me an estimate but a midwife in triage said 7 1/2lb and he was 7lb 7oz.

My OB and an ultrasound guessed over 9 lbs, he was 7 13.

At admission to the hospital (i.e. in Labor) the U/S estimated 8lbs 9oz...K was 7lbs2oz...

I have zero faith in their ability to get within a lb

I didn't have an estimate very close to delivery but at 35 weeks they estimated my third baby was 7.5 lbs roughly. My first two were big too so I wasn't surprised when they predicted she would be close to 10 lbs, my guess was 9 lb 6... but we were all surprised when she was my smallest at 8#1oz (39 weeks 3 days).

At my 36-week ultrasound (actually 36+5), the tech and the MD said that baby was about 6lbs, 11oz. DD was born exactly three weeks later, 7lbs, 10oz. There have been a lot of large babies in my family, so I was surprised that she was so average sized.

My midwife estimated DD at 7 lb. 5 oz. at 39w2d (by feeling my belly). She was born at 7 lb. 7 oz. at 39w4d. Pretty spot on!!

My first was measuring big and I was told she could be close to 10lbs, she was 7lbs 13oz at 39 weeks. My second was also measuring big, they thought at 38 weeks he was over 8 1/2 pounds. He was born at 38 weeks 5 days and was 9lbs 6oz

The doctor who read her growth ultrasound overestimated (she did have a kind of big head, though, so that's probably why) but my midwives were spot on by feeling my belly.
