DH and I got back this afternoon from Vegas. I have to go back to work tomorrow and am dreading it. I have always had a hard time going back to work after vacation, but my job has been more problematic lately which makes it worse. My to-do list always blows up after vacation and today is no exception. DH is working 1.5 hours away for the next 9 weeks and I had to say goodbye to him tonight. AF is due on a few days and we are TTC, so that makes it more stress. I'm just having a rough night and feeling lonely, so I'm reaching out to the wonderful ladies here.

I love my job but I have trouble not feeling a little down and a little resentful on Sundays. Coming back from vacation is way worse!

I hear ya! I find that returning a day or two early from vacation so we can ease back into reality slowly at home before going back to work helps (a little). Can you do anything nice for yourself to make your first days back a bit more mellow? Even just a lunch or coffee break treat?

Oh yes, I hate it! I can never sleep on a Sunday or at the end of a holiday...... I go back after 7 months maternity leave in two weeks and I'm really dreading it!!

Yes!! I try to take an extra day if coming back falls on a Monday.

I love my job, but even going back after a good weekend makes me stressed. And vacation time just makes that worse! I miss my DH! Hang in there!!

I find it not that bad this time around, honestly. I like my job, so that helps, but I make sure to clean out my emails as much as possible and spread the word that I won't be around, so it's not too taxing upon return.

ME! I cannot take it. I am the type that starts to get grumpy late Sunday afternoon in anticipation of Monday morning so after vacation its that much worse! And I actually like my job overall (or at least don't hate it) so I'm not sure why I feel that way...

Going back to work after time off is the worst... even just a long weekend. I can't wait to retire lol.

Yes, I feel this way too, generally. I love my job (for the most part) but it's always hard to come back after a nice time away. We just got back from a vacation yesterday and I started off my work week with a snow day... this is a nice transition!
I have to admit though, that part of me s ready to get back into my routine. I loved being with LO all week long, but mama needs a bit of a break!

Yep. Not working is just way way way more fun than working. And the contrast seems that much more obvious when you're just off a long break.
