We got one used off Craigslist for #2, and I was okay spending the money on it because we could sell it for the same amount or maybe a bit more. Also, we have a small space, so it's less of a footprint than a normal swing and it gives me a few minutes to nurse #1, start dinner, or just have a second with no one on me. Sometimes he'll fall asleep in there, but if he's awake he won't last more than 5 minutes. It's pretty cool though.

Yep I have one! We like it and are hoping baby number two likes it as much as our son did. We use it solely as a sound machine now that he's grown out of it lol. The new model looks better than our model too.

We have one (the 2012 model), and DS likes it! He's slept in it a few times. I put him in it while I brush my teeth, shower, and get ready. Hopefully, we can reuse for LO #2 in the future!

My sister got one cheap through a local moms group for her twins. They really like it and for a about 6 weeks, it was the only place they could put one of the twins down to nap. She gave it to us and we like it so far, but LO is only 2 weeks, so we'll see how it goes long term.

We have one and my twins enjoy it! It takes up less space than a regular swing, so I definitely appreciate that...I got ours off Craigslist, wasn't super-cheap but less than what it sells for new...overall, I'd recommend it!

Just came across these today! I scoffed at the price but after testing out the features I was impressed! Too bad to hear some babies hated them. I think we will stick to a plain old swing anyways.

We have the new model and DD LOVES it. She takes a 3-4 hour nap in it every day. It broke actually and we had to go 4 days without it until they mailed us a new one (great customer service!) it was the.longest.4.days.
I know a lot of ppl say their babies didn't like it bc it was too slow - but I can't imagine her going any faster !

We have it and it didn't do much for her. She never fell asleep in it. I'm intrigued by the new one that actually swings.

Has the new model been out for awhile? I ordered one a couple weeks ago and just want to make sure I got the later version. The store is holding it for me until my furniture arrives.

@raintreebee: Did you figure out how to tell if its a new model? Or what the changes are in the new versus old? Nevermind, i found a post that said the old (prior to 2012) models have orange buttons on the control panel and the new models have silver buttons.
I have two I am looking at used and need to figure which one is the better deal.

Okay, I was just looking up the new model today. I wanted to get one off craigslist but those would all be older ones I'm sure. I just can't justify paying full price for it. It seems babies either love it or hate it, so knowing myself I'll get it and just sell it if baby #2 hates it.

We had it for the twins and they seemed to like it. I am not sure if you know but it was very new when I had the twins. We just happened to be at Buy Buy Baby when the sales person was in the store. They took it off the shelf and let me "test" each baby in the swing before we bought it. I did this for play pens, car seats, toys all in the store before I buy things.

@kml636: If the new model came out in 2012 there is a good chance some of them on craigslist are the newer model.

@kml636: I found a new model one with the infant insert for $100. I think that's a pretty good deal because new it would be $240 plus tax.

@kml636: Craigslist! There was another one on a kids resale group on Facebook but it was the older model but she was selling for $75

LO much preferred his Fisher Price swing! He liked the Mamaroo for the mobile, but he would never nap in it.

The rockaroo is about 180 on BBB where the mamaroo is 250. wondering why the price difference? have been thinking about one for dd..
clementine / 825 posts
@matador84: I think the rockaroo has less features. We received a swing and bouncer at my shower and finally gave in and bought the mamaroo at 6 weeks bc she hated both the swing and bouncer. The mamaroo has been a life saver for us!

No Lo but this thing looks awesome. Looks like they have a new one coming out too! The rockaroo...

@matador84: It looks like it's the difference in how it moves...the rockaroo goes back and forth from front to back, while the Mamaroo doesn't. I actually think I like the rockaroo better!

@dc yoga bee: Mamaroo goes in four or five motions more like what you naturally would do with a baby.

I bought one used, but DD hated it (she LOVES her Snugabunny swing though). So I sold it to another mama.

I just got mine this weekend (used) and its in perfect condition with the infant insert! I figure I can easily sell it for what I paid for it.
I love that the footprint is so much smaller than the other FP swings.
nectarine / 2878 posts
My friend used one with her daughter and loved it...I don't have any experience with one though. I will just be using a traditional FP swing.

My sister is one of those people who thinks you have to have the "best/new thing." She sold her swing for the Mamaroo and her son hated it. She is now borrowing my Snugabunny swing...becaucse he likes that. Leason learned.
