What is your experience making your own nut butter? Is it more cost effective? Almond butter is so expensive I wonder whether its more expensive to buy or make.

I want to, but the big bags of nuts are expensive! Maybe if you get them at costco?
I've always wanted to DIY my own hazelnut cocoa butter.
My favorite almond butter is Justin's vanilla. The vanilla is so delicious. Oooo make maple-vanilla.

Made my own peanut butter recently. Loved it but I can't really see how it would be cost effective. Also took forever to shell all those peanuts. My brother suggested that I just get a bag of ready unsalted peanuts next time.
