If you have two boys and strangers, or even family members make the comment..."So when are you trying for a girl??" or if you have two girls and you get "Ohhh gotta try for that boy!" I personally HATE when people make comments like that. I find it so rude and almost like it imples that you must be disappointed in having two of the same gender and by having a child of the opposite gender will somehow make your life better. Sorry for the rant, but I get this question all of the time! I personally am very happy with how my family is and I would not change anything about it!

It makes me SO MAD. I have 2 boys. Two wonderful, amazing, handsome boys. I don't *need* a girl to make our family complete or better or whatever else. And honestly, my SO and I both kind of want all boys. I hear a lot we need a girl....but never hear my FSIL being told they need a boy (both have daughters).

It honestly doesn't bother me when they ask if I am going to try for a boy but it bothers me when people TELL me that I NEED to try for a boy.

I got the gender we wanted both times and I am thrilled about it...My DH doesn't get too bothered by the comments and thinks I overreact by getting annoyed about it, but it really does make me feel like people are implying that we are *missing* out on something, when I don't feel that way AT ALL!

Yeah, I'm having a girl (my first LO) and I've gotten several comments about how "I need to try for a boy next." Oh, OK! First off, I'm not having another, and secondly, what is wrong with just girls?! My parents had 3 girls!

I was never bothered by it, most people are just making small talk. I don't think they really mean that one gender is a disappointment .

@CottonCandy: Right! I'm not missing out on anything at all by having just boys. Girls are definitely the favorite around here though so I've heard so many negative comments about having 2 boys.
It amazes me that people don't think it might bother you or hurt your feelings to hear it's not good enough to have just boys (or girls). When I tell people I'd love all boys (we want one more baby) they look at me like I'm stupid.

And I've been asked if we'll try for a girl next. I tell them we want one more but we're not TRYING for a girl, we'll be happy with whatever we get. That doesn't bother me. But the "Oh, you HAVE to have a girl next!" does.

My friends with two of the same gender usually are the ones telling me that they're going to try for the opposite gender. Except my friend who got her tubes tied after her second girl.... she's very open about being finished.

That was the first question out of most people's mouths when they found out I was pregnant. I said "nope hoping for a 3rd girl" and then smile. Lol
My mil even went as far as explaining "her" method of getting two boys and one girl (which turned out to be the shettler's method and an weird convo). -
@mrsmenow: Agreed- I never hear this from people I'm in any way close to, and with others, I think it's just easy small talk so I don't mind.
