I've been fingerprinted many times for different internships and jobs. I'm ok with that, I feel better knowing that people working in my field are fingerprinted.

They have mine! I had to have them done to get a professional license for my job.

Yes at the airport, Is that only for non american citizens? Also for my drivers license

Yup! Had to give them to the US government for background checks for a job, and will likely have to give them (again) for security clearance. DH has them on file for his immigration, so no Bonnie & Clyde style crime sprees for us, sadly.

Yep. I've been mentoring teens for the past 5 years, so they have my digits! I have to remember to wear gloves when I go on my crime spree.

Yep. Had to when I was a lifeguard one year. They also did it at the dmv when I changed my name.

Yes, I worked for the State Department for a bit so there was no way around it. I'm actually more surprised when I hear that someone hasn't been fingerprinted yet. It's becoming pretty much standard for just about everything nowadays. I hear all the time about schools in the US requiring fingerprinting and background checks on parent volunteers for goodness sakes. Pretty soon it'll be standard fare for births. Weigh the baby, measure the baby, fingerprint the baby. I even heard something about background checks needing to be done at a school in the UK on parents in order for them to watch their kids' field day. Craziness.

yep! 4 times! for our adoption processes, we needed to have our fingerprints done by 2 different agencies for both applications. it was kind of annoying to have my fingerprints done again for the second application's background check..i mean, it's not like my fingerprints changed!

Yeah, we had to get them here locally for a police clearance to bring with us to get residency visas overseas.

Yes! When I was younger the police had a station set up at the mall and my mom made us all get fingerprinted. THey said it was so if we were ever lost/abducted it could help track us??

No comment. But my uncle doesn't have hands so I'm not sure what they would do if he was arrested.

Yes, have to get fingerprinted for my teaching certificate. I had to get fingerprinted also when I took my test on Wednesday, that was a little ridiculous to me, but whatev! I think I had to get fingerprinted for my drivers license and passport as well which is surprising that people can get away with not having their fingerprints somewhere!

I don't even know how you can manage to not have your fingerprints somewhere in the system. I've been fingerprinted 4 times just since starting law school (5 years ago), and twice in the last year. If I'm going to become a criminal, it will have to be a very smart, very forensically wise one.
