We live near my mom, and sometimes she will hang out with the kids one-on-one. They love it, of course! But she is really busy with work, and doesn't have as much time to just hang out. My son is dying to have someone teach him sewing though, so I think maybe that will be their next project together!

LO1 just had a sleepover with my parents a few weeks ago, and that was really special for her since her little sister wasn't around to share the spotlight. So it doesn't happen often, but here and there.

My mom keeps the girls at least twice a month and if she isn't too busy with work, once a week. They almost never nap at the same times when they are at her house so she gets to spend a lot of good quality time with them together and a part. My entire house adores her! (My dad is great too, he's just usually at work when my mom watches them).

Yes, he does. My parents do a lot of before/after care for my son and when my inlaws come to visit, he has their complete attention for 10 whole days (when we visit them in the same year, it's close to a month of a love fest, lol).

Not a lot. It's a big reason we're trying to move east. I want her to get to spend time with her grandmothers.

They see my parents all the time. My mom watches them 4 days a week, and we generally have dinner over there once a week.
They hardly ever see ILs.

Both sets of grandparents see DD all the time but none have had alone time. I know we need to be better about it but it's so hard to let go of the time DH and I get with her!

My mom and my MIL both will watch LO while DH and I travel so they get a lot of intense 1 on 1 time with him. My dad is living across the world right now for work, so he's missing out for a while!

Yes; we are very lucky to have both parents pretty close by (1/2 hour or so away from our house). Tomorrow my mom is picking LO up from school and they will go back to my parents' house, go to the park, make cookies together and then make my birthday cake together.

Tons with my mom since she has babysat DD since infancy and she does pick up's from daycare. Not as much with in-laws.

DD spends a lot of time with my mom and dad- they tend to keep her overnight if DH and I want a date night or something. They do special art or baking projects and she has a special park that she only likes to go to with my dad ("The Papa Park"). She does hang out with the ILs without us on occasion but not as often.

my dad offers to babysit about once a month. And my mom is in town at least once a month as well and will spend a good chunk of time with lo--sometimes with me too, sometimes not, so maybe every other month she'll babysit? (my parents have a strange situation where they sort of half live in our city...) Mil babysits less frequently, but usually for more time when she does--like, she has come to visit when I'm out of town so she can help dh with lo, or if daycare is closed she'll watch her during work hours for a couple days in a row.
lo's still never done an overnight away thoguh!

My parents have spent a bunch of time alone (including overnight) with DS even though they live on the other side of the country from us. ILs live 2 hours away and has spent a lot less time with him, and never without us there. Visits are usually 1-2x per month and only for a few hours each time. I don't expect that will change any time soon. It would be so nice if they were more responsible and we felt comfortable having a weekend to ourselves!

My parents have sat for my son two afternoons per week since I went back to work when he was 3 months old. (He's now 2.5.) They take him overnight once every month or two.
There is a long list of reasons why I would not trust my MIL to watch my son. Luckily some of those reasons are objective physical limitations so I have avoided addressing her utter lack of judgement not to mention risk of unwelcome religious indoctrination. She is not happy about the double standard but luckily her happiness is not my priority!

In laws take DS 1 overnight about once a month. It's great for everyone! My parents are too far away for that, but when they are visiting they take him out to play. I think once DS 2 is older he'll get to do the same.

Yes- lots with my Mom.
Not so much with MIL since she does not respect any of our rules and fights us on everything
