I know it's just a toy, but this makes me twitch!! my daughter had a playdate the day after her birthday and they mixed 5 CANS together to make...sludge. she followed the other LO's lead, and hasn't since. But I just took a quick shower and she mixed a bunch of sparkly ones together..sigh. luckily they look more tie-dye than sludge, but it drives me nuts 
does your LO mix colors? or leave them separate?

Sometimes, but I usually limit her to 2-3 colors so if they do get mixed its not all ruined.

Yes and it drives me crazy. Doesn't seem to bother my mom or DH so I figured I was just being weird. Glad to know it bothers others!

@T.H.O.U.: same. that first time, they mixed 5 "mini" cans that came with the little pony, and today she mixed two small cans. lol. can't win

So far I only give her one color at a time so she doesn't really know it's an option! But I don't think I'll fight it for long.
We went to a friends house and all her play dough was a perfect uniform gray. I was just really impressed with how well blended it was.

She doesn't intentionally try but it's inevitable. I could care less though. Life's too short to stress about mixed play doh

Yes. We have four cans of mud coloeed play dough right now from our last play session.

No mixing yet, but he usually only has one or two colours at a time. I know when it happens it will be hard for me!
