Last night when LO started crying DH woke me up saying "the girls are crying.". I pointed out to the poor sleepy guy that we only have ONE girl. He responded, "that's right, the KIDS are crying." Yeah, we only have one kid.
With LO waking up 4 times a night I catch him saying all sorts of weird stuff in his sleep. Do you catch your partner saying weird things?

@Corduroy: hahaha that's funny. Yep, but DH talks in his sleep a lot. His most common is, "mhm" as if he's still listening to me talk before bed but he's not really listening.

Mine speaks in his native tongue which I don't understand! And I'm too sleepy to remember what he said to ask in the morning.

The other night LO started fussing and DH apparently thought I didn't hear so he shook me to wake me up and he damn near knocked me off the bed lol. I told him I was up and he apologized and went back to sleep.

Apparently I'm the one who says things in my sleep during night wake ups. It takes me forevvvvvver to fall asleep, but then I sleep really deeply once I am asleep and my husband is the opposite. So even if we decide beforehand something, like for him to do the first wakeup and me to do the second, I've been told I argue quite persuasively in my sleep that it's his turn (the reason will vary but its just usually along the lines that i never get any sleep and i feel like i'm going to die from lack of sleep) and every so often he will just get the baby again as I happily keep sleeping.
And then I have no recollection the next day of any if it.

A lot of times my husband won't remember talking to me during the night feed! He hasn't said anything ridiculous since having the baby, but he's notorious for sleep talking with his eyes open. Once he told me our one cat was remodeling the bathroom, and our other cat was "downstairs in the basement answering the phones". Apparently he was hosting a telethon? Haha

The other night he woke up in the middle of the night and didn't see her in crib and yelled out "Where's my baby?! Who took my baby?!" In a panicked state. I was feeding her on my side of the bed. LOL

DH used to say "B is crying" and then fall asleep. It drove me nuts. I'm like, thanks sherlock. I could tell, that's why I'm up.

DH does ask me strange things in his sleep. Last night he woke with a start and asked me where my gun was because he thought he heard it. Um, nope it was safely locked in our gun safe. Other times he chases invisible spiders (which are apparently very prone to attacking).

This totally happened a few days ago. I woke up for my 8,000th trip to the bathroom, and on my way back, my husband started saying that he needed to get up and see where Bea (our dog) was. I told him he'd either have to go to the bathroom or the kitchen because she was laying on her bed. He started to get really angry with me and told me that I was lying (at this point I realized he was asleep). Apparently, he was dreaming and remembered the conversation, but I looked like Bea and was walking on my hind legs and even talking in the sad voice we give Bea (she kind of has an Eeyore disposition).
It was the best night convo ever.

Well, not during a night waking because we don't have any babies yet, but last weekend, DH woke up with a start and sat up, so I asked if he was OK.
In this really angry voice he said, "God damn it! I'm just trying to gauge my flower pots! It's as simple as that!!!"
And he flopped back down. He had no memory of it the next morning. So weird!!

All.the.time! If I'm super awake I try to talk back and see what he says, but most of the time I just ignore him lol.

It doesn't happen often but I caught him, at least, once saying something funny. Of course I can't remember what he said.
I am actually the one who more guilty of talking and saying random things when I sleep.

This thread made me think of Finding Nemo . . . when Dory is sleeping in the goggles (right after the sharks) and she is muttering "the sea monkeys have my money" and "yes, I'm a natural blue" . . . HA!
My DH sleeps through a lot. Or, if he doesn't sleep through it, he falls asleep so quickly thereafter that I should probably alert the folks at Guiness!
@Pepper: I have been known to sleep with one eye open (literally!) too . . . but I also talk in my sleep. : /

My favorite one (which I still hold over DH's head) is when DS was maybe a week old, and the arrangement was for DH to change diaper and then I would nurse DS. I heard DS crying (next to us, in the pac n play) and I woke up DH and said can you change him? And he stood up, and then looked at me, and said, change who? It was not funny at the time since I was so exhausted but now I think its hilarious

We went through a period where DH always thought DD was in the bed with us. He would think my pillow was the baby and freak out when I rolled over etc. It would happen nightly and pair it with a poorly sleeping baby I was not happy!

One time I came to bed after DH was already asleep, and when I was getting into bed he sort of sat up and said 'Good evening, General.' I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing and waking him up.

I wish DH did this!! He said I'm the one that talks in my sleep. He's a pretty light sleeper.

@Pepper: haha, I hope your cat did a nice remodeling job!
DH has talked in his sleep a few times but I can't remember any of it now. He is funny though.
