I was watching the Today Show and they had a survey which showed 54% of dads today change diapers, up from 30% a generation ago.
The anchors seemed impressed, but I was surprised it was so low! I don't know any fathers these days who don't change diapers.
Does your baby daddy change diapers?? (Or if you are the dad - do you??)

I change more diapers overall since I'm currently a SAHM. During the weekends, however, DH probably does 80-90% of the diaper changes!

We would have HUGE issues if he didn't.
I did read that Kayne doesn't. But I don't think that surprises anyone.

Yes he was the first one to change her diaper when she was just born and when he is around I ask him to change her which he does with no complaints.

@bunnylove08: dh was the first one to change her diaper too! The nurse taught him when I was recovering from labor and then he showed me the next day

Definitely! He changed a lot more than me when he was home a after they were born. It's just easier for me to set up all my Bf stuff and have someone bring me one clean dry baby then the other. Even now my MIL and mom change a lot while I feed one or the other!

I agree that it sounds low! I could see why a dad would change them less (simply if he wasn't home less and his partner was the stay at home parent) but I can't imagine a dad that never changed ANY...how do they get away with that, unless they're not in the kiddo's life at all?! Yes, my husband changes diapers!

@bunnylove08: @Charm54: My DH did all of the hospital diapers because I had a c section and was less mobile. I didn't change a diaper till we got home and honestly I felt pretty dumb because I was just learning and my DH was a pro!

No. We are having some issues considering what he thinks is my "job". I love him but lately I feel like he is a huge ass lol

Absolutely! He changes more diapers than I do, since he figures I'm the only one who can breastfeed. He thinks its only fair!

I said no, but he maybe changes 1 or 2 diapers a week. I made a deal with him that if we did CDs that I wouldn't make him change any diapers. He HATES the CDs, and they're rarely stuffed when she needs her diaper changed, so it's way easier to do it myself than to listen to him bitch about it
I don't mind though - there are things he does that I will no way/no how ever do, and he accepts it!

Definitely! Particularly in the newborn days when I was working on BF. We used to joke that I was the lunch lady and he was the garbage man. He pretty much did all the diapers.

When the three of us are together, my husband change the majority of the diapers. As a general rule, I am in charge of what goes in the baby and he is in charge of what comes out!

DH changes just as many as I do! He is half of this team his dad never changed any though and he's heard his mom bitch about it for years so I think he knew better

I guess this is a little naive of me, but how does it work if your husband doesn't? Like, do you NEVER leave home without the baby? If you're gone for a few hours do you come home to a poop butt?
Yes, my husband changes diapers, and to that other 46% I really want to know if you never leave the baby!

A SAHM friend and her husband came over recently and both commented separately on DH changing diapers. I guess part of their arrangement in her staying home is that she handles all the baby stuff. Whatever works for them. DH was so not OK with it and made the guy change a diaper. Misery loves company.

Yep, he changes LO's diapers quite a bit. He changed LO's diapers in the hospital when I was still recovering too. He's an active and involved parent.

Yes, it was known before going into parenthood that he would be very involved. His dad has never changed a diaper in his life...I was not going to have that at my house!

I know 2 dads that only changed them on very rare occasions, like a few a year. Both earn well into the millions, so unfortunately I think that plays a factor.
