DH was able to go to LO's appointments, but then he got a new job and it's harder for him to go, since he works all day. He missed her 4 month appointment and will miss her 6 month appointment next month. Does your SO go to LO's appointments? Is it a huge deal if they miss some of them?

He went when she was a newborn but now he doesn't. It's just not that easy for him to miss work. I'm a sahm and I schedule them around los time, she wakes up late so after breakfast 10 is easiest, not convenient for dh. I just call him when were done with an update, and ask before if he has questions for the doctor.
Once when I was there I overheard a little girl asking if daddys are allowed to go to the doctor. Obviously moms going alone are the norm there

I assumed it was normal for just one parent, but I feel bad sometimes that he isn't going.

LO isn't here yet, but the plan is that once I'm off maternity leave, he's on Dr. duty until I can accrue more vacation. I'm an hourly employee and he's salary, so it'll be much easier for him to take LO to the Dr for an hour than it is for me!

DH probably won't, cause he won't be able to get off work for them. He might go if it were something urgent, but the routine stuff he'll just leave up to me.

He came to the two month and intends to come to the 4 and 6 month as far as I know. I insisted he be there for the two but now that I've been through seeing her get shots and it wasn't so bad I'm fine if it turns out he can't make the other ones.

Yeah, he's come to all of them but the earliest he ever works is noon so we just schedule them in the AM.

DH has come to most of them but missed a couple. He likes going though, seeing the charts and generally comes up with more questions than I do.

After the 21 week mark, he stopped coming to the appointments, only because i told him not to bother! I did not want to waste his time.

Nope. I usually book them during the day and he's at work. When I go back to work we'll probably alternate taking time off to take her wherever.

DH came to LO's appointments when he was a newborn, but not anymore. Since he works full-time, it's hard to take off work. I work part-time, so I can make appointments on my days off.

He has come with me to every single one and I'm so grateful because some of them have been very hard for her and me. He's out of work right now which is in itself a huge stress but I'm beyond grateful that it's meant he can come to everything.

He came when she was a newborn and one sick visit since. It doesn't bother me to take her alone.

We schedule them so he works from home, picks up LO from daycare, then I cab over and meet the there.

If its shots he comes with. We schedule them for the afternoon and he takes it off work.

He didn't until his 9 month appt, and I purposefully scheduled it for a morning he was home. I also scheduled his 12 month appt for when DH is home

Oops, totally misread the question! He comes to all of LO's appointments unless he has something pressing at work that day. The pediatrician's office is only 5 minutes away from his office so it is doable.
