Nope! She runs to me when she sees me. If I get there a little after 5 she wants to finish her little snack they give at 5 but otherwise, she starts towards the door saying Dada. Girlfriend wants to get home to see her Daddy.

He doesn't fight me about leaving the classroom, but lately he's gotten obsessed with this damn drainage pipe/retention ditch and he runs away from me on the walk to to car almost every freaking time. And when I go get him, he loses all his bones and I have to drag him to the car. I told him I was going to spank him in front I his friends the other day he had me so pissed off. He straightened up, but I now have to haul ass to he car to try and get him distracted because if he gets it in his mind that he's getting into that pipe, it's a 10 minute battle to get him out of there.

Hahaha K (3+) has started doing this too. I once threatened to leave, and he called my bluf. I now just tell him that I will pick him up and he'll cry in front of his friends and embarass himself, and then normally he comes with me. Not saying I should get a mommy medal for that one, ha!

He's always fine as soon as we get outside, it's just hard since pickup time is of course during "free play" - his favorite! Also I pick him up at 3 and more than half of his class stays until 6, which makes it harder.

@winniebee: That's great! I was just going to commiserate. I've gotten there at the same time as other parents, and their kids are all "Mommy! Mommy" running in for a hug, and mine is like "NO! [whine] NO! [stamps feet in anger]"

I feel like his teachers must think we have a terrible home life or something, but I swear I'm just going to bring him home and play and give him a nice dinner! Argh.

I went thru a phase of this with both kids - funny thing was my DS would cry at drop off because he didn't want to go and then at pick up refused to leave because he loved school! drove me batty!
