DS is turning one in a couple weeks and I've seen several posts about the doljabi ceremony. I would love to do this at his party, but we are not Korean. Would it be insensitive/in poor taste of us to incorporate this into the day?

Another bee asked that a few years ago, and many Koreans didn't think it would be a big deal.

@peaches1038: Which part did you want to do? We aren't Korean, and my husband's culture has a "ceremony" at age 1, where one of the activities is to lay out certain objects in a fan shape in front of the baby. Each object represents a future career, and whatever the baby crawls to is supposed to show what they will do in life.
Our baby simultaneously grabbed an apple and a pencil, which apparently means she will never be hungry and she will be well educated.
