I would not be offended! I have a LO so maybe I'm extra aware of this (and not sensitive about it), but this seems completely reasonable to me.

I probably would think it was a little snarky to tell grown adults to stay home if they are sick. Most people would know that. And even if someone comes sick Your LO likely won't get sick unless they hold her. So just be cautious about who holds her. That way she is safe and you don't have to offend people.

I can see how people would be offended, but I definitely would not be! Some people just don't get it....so yes it needs to be spelled out for them. Literally.

I would be offended because I feel like it's common sense not to go see a baby when you're sick.

@ladyfingers: yes, yes they do. It's so aggravating too! I had a Mom come to my sons 8th Birthday while her older son was at home with a nasty stomach bug, she said she had finished her bout the night before, brought the youngest and after touching all the pizza he came down with it an hour after they got home!

It would depend on what kind of party this is. Is it an intimate gathering for close friends and family? Then I wouldn't include something like this. If it's a big party, then by all means go ahead. People have no sense.

I wonder if another option could be to spread it word of mouth, or have your mom do it...just nicely, like you were going to put it in the invite...

@MsMini: Honestly, me too. If I stayed home any time I thought I was sick or had recently been sick, I would literally never leave my house. This has been the worst flu season in years, and someone in my house has had the sniffles near constantly.

@travelingbrit: Starting it with the bit about the vaccines makes it much less offensive to me. Like, going beyond common sense, sort of. I wouldn't be put off by that, especially on a casual FB invite.

It is common sense, but of course it isn't all that common it seems. I would do it since it seems likely to happen.

I think it's very well worded. I'm a mom, though. Eh, just do it. You'll feel better if you do.

I like the vaccination version. I think as moms we think it's common sense to stay away when were sick..... But I also know others who dont think that way so personally I'd rather annoy some people or make them think I'm over protective then get my lo sick.

I wouldn't be offended. This flu season is crazy and people have no sense. If they are offended, would it be the worst thing that's happened? I doubt it.

I don't know if "offended" is the word but I'd feel something... distasteful. I'd feel like if I go to the party I'm going to be inspected for germs or something! Keep in mind a lot of contagious people don't even know they're sick because of the incubation period for colds and flu.

I also don't really like when hosts tell me what to do. Like, "everyone wear white!" or whatever!
