What do you do when you're in a bit of a funk? These days I've been feeling blah~~~...I feel like running through a field of wild flowers and screaming my head off! I just feel...UGH!

Maybe it's time to let your hubby take LO for a night so you can get out!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
this is kind of embarrassing to admit, but I wander target. I buy something cheap and fun to make myself feel better. cheap retail therapy!
I know that's harder with a baby though, I haven't been there yet. I agree with artbee, maybe your DH can give you a night or day off?

you definitely need some time to yourself. also, get more sunshine. now that it has been warmer and i've been spending more time out in the sun, i feel rejuvenated.

That's exactely what I'd do. Go for a run or something I know makes me feel better. Also use your supports (friends, husband, parents, etc)

i force myself to socialize, and i try to spend more time outdoors. it really makes a difference! try to be outside as much as you can!

Thanks you guys! I'm waiting for LO to wake up from her nap so that we can go take a walk!

i'm SO feeling like that now. i'm like 2.5 weeks to d-day (hehe) and i'm definitely feeling ugh. blah. etc. would love to get another massage, but the last one i got was so painful (couldn't get in a comfy position).... plus, it's a lil dreary outside today.

go outside, take a walk, take baby to the park if its warm enough outside...get a sweet drink (java chip frap from starbucks, if you're not nursing), retail therapy online or even take a quick trip to gap/old navy just to browse.

@Rubies: I am too!!! I told Rob Sr. so many times in the past 2 days "I'm so unhappy". I know it's hormones but I just can't get control of it.
My girlfriend just emailed me about how she is stressed out as well, and we're going to get together for a fun dinner out. I never really had to have girls' nights before, but it really helps now. Just being able to escape my reality for a couple of hours is just what I need. Since nothing in my life is really that bad, it's just a matter of disconnecting myself from this negative emotion.
A date night with Rob Sr. helps too, but not nearly as much as just laughing with a girlfriend. Too bad I won't be able to partake in the cocktails though

@Rubies: Oh noes.. I just bought a Bob stroller so I can start running with LO! Excited to start exercising. Exercise endorphins are natural happy drugs! Maybe you should start running/walking too?

@chopsuey119: hehe your comment reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Legally Blonde: "exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people don't just kill their husbands."

@mrs. wagon: HAHA. I love Legally Blond... Seriously though.. I ALWAYS feel better after a good run/exercise!

@chopsuey119: I LOVE "Legally Blonde" - it's one of my favourite movies - such a feel-good type. I just got back from a brisk walk with LO and I definitely feel better. Phew!

@chopsuey119: I HATE running. I NEVER run, even when chased. As a kid, I hated playing 'Tag'...But walking, I can do!

@chopsuey119: @Rubies: yay for feeling better! Have you guys seen the musical? It's SO AWESOME. I've actually seen it live twice. The first time I saw it starring Laura Bell Bundy. It's such a great interpretation of the movie! I think you can find it in chunks on youtube.

When I"m feeling down in the dumps, I like to just walk around the mall and look around. I"ll grab a cup of my favorite coffee drink and just browse. Maybe even pick up a yummy lotion or something. Or if you like to read, maybe head over to a bookstore, grab some books, plop down on a couch with your coffee and read. That's always nice and relaxing.

I get out of the house and have some alone time with my sister and our best friend. Laughing always works wonders for me! I'll also try to squeeze in a pedicure when I can, too.

@Rubies: HAHAHAHAHAAH so funny! I love running. Especially after I'm done! Glad you're feeling better.
@mrs. wagon: Haven't seen the musical!!!! Love the movie though. I'm embarrassed to say this, but she made me wanna be a lawyer so I could wear fabulous suits. Not even kidding..

OMG there's a musical for legally blonde?? Darn!! I missed it! I wonder if it'll ever come to LA. I LOVED legally blonde!

Aw, I'm sorry you're feeling down. Do smooches help? I can send you some. Smooochies!!
Hope your walk with lo helped a bit. I usually pull the covers over my head or bake something delicious and ridiculous when I'm feeling down.

@banana: it is AWESOME. I listen to the soundtrack all the time. I've already determined which character I'd play if given the chance (the geeky friend who helps her study for her LSAT)

@Rubies: hope you are feeling better! I go running, shopping or people watching. Doesn't always work but at least I am not sitting at home stewing in my own juices!
