I want to visit my parents at the end of the month but DH can't go. I also want to attend a memorial service for an old friend while I'm there...my parents will watch my kids who are 2 and 8 months.
6 hour drive or 1 hour flight?

How much gear would you have to bring? Do your parents have a lot of stuff (stroller, car seat, pnp)? If you need to bring a lot I think driving would be easier but I only have one LO and we only flew with her once. We had so much stuff for her!

My parents have a PNP and I will try to cosleep with one child. I will probably take a double stroller and rent a car with car seats when I get there? But I still have a lot of other stuff...

I would drive - 6 hours isn't bad at all - way easier than lugging stuff thru an airport!

I guess how much time would flying really save? Time to get to the airport early, check in, wait for take off, landing, luggage, find the rental car... Seems like you'd only save two hours? I think I would drive unless your kids hate the car.
My parents live about five hours away and I usually drive or train unless there is a super deal on a flight, but that was pre baby. Now I'd def drive or train because of all the stuff.

I'd drive too if your kids are decent in the car. You can probably get them to nap a couple hours of it at least . . . I think flying with kids is super stressful on your own. And agree with PP that it won't be that much faster to fly, plus the time will be more relaxing (unless your kids are screaming!).

For me, it'd depend on how much stuff you're bringing and if you can handle it all with two kids through the airport, security, onto the plane, deplane, to the rental car, load the rental car, etc. and what your kids' temperant is as well. Otherwise, I'd drive.
My parents live 3.5 hours away and we always drive even though the plane ride would only be 30 minutes.

Driving seems easier! Just pack the car and go versus all of the airport/flight stuff. Total travel time with flying is longer than an hour anyway.

@Andrea: I agree.
Flight+security+boarding+time to and from airport=a lot of hassle for not that much time savings.
