We are still in the early poop-tastic weeks 
-- probably 6-8 dirty diapers ever day at 6weeks. I know the range of "normal" is HUGE...but I was hoping things would slack off a bit and then we could transition to cloth...
How many dirties does your EBF LO have? How old? Should I just bite the bullet and start CD...or is it reasonable to expect that things will slack off after a while?

Not every day, but fewer than that is pretty rare.
Why not use cloth now? This is the best time because with the EBF poop you just toss it in the wash! No scraping/spraying required.

1-2! ETA- 6 weeks old. She was going 3-4 times a day for the first 2 weeks.

@Anya: I think my stash is a little paltry-- I only have 14 AIOs and never got around to buying/pre-washing good prefolds. But yes, I should start! I think I've also hesitated b/c I'm overwhelmed by how poorly we're sleeping...and not feeling quite ready to take on that extra load of laundry per day!

1-2 a day at 4 months old. We did cloth after a couple weeks because I was already used to doing laundry every day

Both my EBF babies only poop/ed like 2 or 3 times a week after the first 3 ish weeks.

@Mrs. Sunshine: Ok, good! It's not frothy or green so I am guessing he is getting plenty of fat...plus he's in the 80% for weight.

My son started pooping 1x a week around 4 weeks and now at 5.5 months he goes every 3-4 days

@FliegepilzHut: We went from poop at every feeding to 2-4 times a day around 7 weeks.
We are at nearly ten weeks now and I still haven't switched to cloth. I am waiting on DH to have time to put up the clothesline but really I could do that myself.

DS1 pooped several times a day his first 2 years of life. DS2 is 3mo and will go once or twice a day for 4 days and then nothing for 4 days. Then the cycle continues.

DS - 6-8 times per day until about 3ish months.
DD - 2-3 times per day the first few weeks and then once every 2-3 days until she started solids.

My daughter is almost 5 weeks and hasn't gone in 7 days lol! She has always been an infrequent pooper and the docs aren't concerned. Crazy how across the map it can be!

Nine weeks here, and DD has at least 2-3 real poops a day. And she sharts constantly (sorry TMI!) We go through so many diapers. I'm going to ask at her next appointment, but I think this is normal

At 6 weeks mine went from a few a day to one every day or two, for the most part. I love it! My first pooped 8 times a day until basically forever? Still 3-4 times a day at 4. It made me stop cloth diapering way early because it was such a hassle.
