I just was kind of boring! we did some gap, old navy, carters. I'm not into the huge headbands tbh I tried one of the stretchy carters ones on her when she was a nb and it left a dent on her head so I never used them again!!

when she was little, she lived in onesies and swaddle blankets, or, sleepers. after that I did onesies and leggings, or a onesie/tunic shirt and leggings.

To be honest, LO was in sleepers for the first few months (actually, she was too tiny for sleepers, so she hung out in her diaper wrapped in a cozy blanket for the first month). We had a couple of dresses that she wore for special occasions, but I liked to keep her cozy. After that, dresses are cute, until they start crawling. Then they're problematic because the dress gets all bunched up when they crawl. Have fun! Dressing girls is fun

I just posted that I try to be very picky. There is so much out there.

I also specifically look for pieces that have multiple shades of pink or purple so that I can find more things that match. You'd be surprised how many variations of pink there are out there. But if its pink thats in a pattern, its not so obvious if the pink leggings don't "quite" match.

M lived in Carter's until she was (like Mrs. Bee mentioned) walking. Carter's clothes are super soft and versatile. My daughter was a summer baby and we dressed her in sleepers, onesies and gowns for her first month or two. Then it was all sleepers and onesies with pants. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot the first year b/c it was just more worth while to keep her comfortable. Now that she's running around, it's a lot of fun to dress her up so you can actually see the clothes she is wearing!

I love Carters, H&M, Old Navy, Osh Kosh, and Target for every day stuff and Baby Gap for nicer outfits.

We love tunics with tights. Definitely do undershirts (short sleeved or tank style) anytime you put her in a top that doesn't snap under the crotch. They're easy and comfy, but girly!

Gymboree has some good options for dress up clothes, once you sift through the cartoony character outfits.

I dress her every day. Some days in dresses but most days she is comfy casual, like her momma!

As for brands - Carter's/OshKosh and GAP fill DD's closet.

DD has craycray hair, so we do a lot of clips from
Carter's and "No Slippy Hair Clippy" brands.

Congrats! Little girls are so fun to dress. I love putting LO (4 mo) in dresses, but it's a little cold right now, so I add tights or baby legs. Avoid too many dresses in the crawling stage because it makes it hard to crawl.

I purchased packs of bows at Target bc they were 6/$3. I haven't found another good place that is cheap. I don't really like the headbands bc they slide off.

I wouldn't go too crazy yet with buying clothes. I got a ton at my shower and a bunch of hand me downs. And, LO is moving up sizes much quicker than anticipated so some of the warm weather 3-6 month stuff never got worn bc it was too cold and now she's too big. Buy a few outfits that you love, buy wait to see what else you get before buying a whole wardrobe.

@T.H.O.U.: Yes!! The different shades is so hard. I have received so many hand me downs that R can't wear cause there isn't tops to match the bottoms and vise versa.

I bought most of my daughter's clothing from Baby Gap, Old Navy, and Target (in their clearance sections before she was born). Such a money saver!!!

My favorite headbands are from A Pinch of Peach (etsy) and Little Hip Squeaks.

@mrskc: I didn't read through the answers you've already gotten but R was born in the summer and I put her in dresses and rompers all the time. I am a huge fan of little girls wearing dresses though I also didn't have any specific brands, especially since I bought at consignment shops. I tried to choose a variety of colors and patterns to make things easier to match. I believe her headbands came from Target and Walmart? I am also a big proponent of bonnets and sun hats so she wore a lot of those. Congrats on your little gal!

Most of LOs clothes come from Old Navy, Target, Gap, Carter's, & Kohl's.

In the newborn stage we did onsies and leggings/pants so she was comfy. At home she just wore sleepers. I did a lot of hte mix and match from Target, their Circo brand was my favorite (still is at 17 months.) It's cheap and not too "girlie" My daughter wore a lot of blue & green, I'm not a huge fan of pink. I have a few local women i get my headbands/bows from. I found buying bows adn then just having basic thin bands that I could exchange worked the best. White, black, navy, brown.

I would hold off on dresses other than special occasions before she can walk. Especially with crawling, the skirt gets in the way.

If you have A's old clothes, I would start with finding pieces that would work for a girl and figuring out how you could girl them up. Ex: striped onesie + pink shorts. I have a handful of boys items that have worked well.

I buy a lot of my clothes on clearance from Target, Old Navy, and Kohls.

My favorite bows (as I'm sure you have seen plenty of) are from Claire's, of all places. They stay in her fine hair really well. I have 6 total.

ETA: Creepers and rompers are my favorites for cute and functionality.

DD is only 13 weeks and so far I dress her mostly in sleepers. She does have two dresses, but they both ride up constantly since she's still kind of a blob. However, I have half a dozen dresses in 12-18 month sizes that I can't wait to see her in.

I try not to do too much pink, but can't help myself every once in awhile.

@mrskc: I'm still trying to figure out clothes for our girl due in May, so no advice yet. But congrats on your little girl!!

@mrskc: Sorry I keep commenting on this thread. LOL. I have 14 shabby chic headbands (the small flower-ish headbands) in pretty much every color. They're all either 0-3 or 3-6 months, so they'll be too small for M soon. I'd be willing to sell them to you for cheap. I can take a pic of all of them and post it on your wall if you want

My winter girl baby lived in footed PJs and sleepers for the first couple months of her life. It wasn't until she hit maybe 3 months or so that I started dressing her up more - mostly baby gap, h&m and gymboree. She wore tons of dresses with tights or leggings.

We had 99% carters stuff. Mostly onesies with pants since they were comfy but as it got hotter she was in a lot of rompers or dresses. Then, and now still, comfort wins over fashion.

Congrats! I haven't read through all of these, but just wanted to add that dresses are pretty tough until they can walk. I mean, maybe when they are totally immobile....but unless the dress is more like a tunic length it gets caught under their knees when they are trying to crawl/creep. Also, a pain in the car seat.
