I am 38 weeks today and as I've written in some other posts, I've been kind of struggling the last couple weeks. I'm being monitored for development of pre-eclampsia because I've been spilling protein and my blood pressure has been intermittently high. I also had to stop working and am pretty much on bed rest.
I'm feel fine when I'm sitting, but my BP is usually relatively high until I lay down. When I stand up and walk around I get extremely fatigued after a minute or two. Taking a 10 minute shower and getting dressed this morning required many breaks to rest and sit down and I was completely out of breath multiple times. I'm wondering if this is normal for the end of pregnancy? Baby has dropped (I think) and was never really pressing on my lungs. I'm really worried about getting through labor like this. Is it normal to not be able to walk around for more than a minute or two? There's just no way I can walk around for any significant amount of time to help labor along.
I currently have an induction scheduled for 39 + 3 (I'm insulin-dependent gestational diabetic and 35), but I'd like to talk to my midwife tomorrow about moving it up to later this week. I feel like my physical state can't be normal and likely to only get worse by waiting an additional week, but I thought I'd get some input before trying to convince them to move it.
