What are some wild assumptions that people make about where you live?
Everybody from California lives at the beach, next door to movie stars and is super liberal. <--- Nope to all 3!

Hmm...I don't know if there are any big misconceptions for Maryland as a state. However, people often think everyone in Baltimore is like the characters on the show The Wire.
I hate to disappoint, but I am not a gun-toting, drug dealing, gangster. We have them, but they are definitely the minority!

I agree with @rahlyrah: not sure if Maryland has much of a national reputation. But Baltimore for sure: drugs, danger, murder. Those negative characteristics are a very real part of our city and, as a public school teacher, I know that they can affect our communities. However the majority of folks who live in and visit Baltimore will never experience those things.
