I did one through my insurance company. The addition to our premium was so small that it just made sense.
I haven't used it on this car, but on my first car, I ended up needing it a couple of times. It was a life saver.

Yeah we got one when we bought the car (used) and its been paid for and then some but its about to run out!

Mine is through my dealer (while, through the manufacturer really, via the dealer); but my credit union had extended auto warranties available which I didn't know about until I shopped them for a loan - so, another place to check!
