I need something to look forward to so I’m trying to plan a winter vacation. Open to destinations, just want somewhere hot and good for families. Bonus points if there are some kind of animal experiences. Anybody been anywhere good?

It’s in the same area as jess1483’s recommendation, but we had a great time here: https://arenasdelmar.com There is wildlife everywhere, including daily sloth sightings and a troop of capuchin monkeys that pass through the property every day around dusk, not to mention Manuel Antonio National Park, which had more wildlife than anywhere else I’ve visited.

I live in Scottsdale, AZ and it's absolutely beautiful all winter long. We also have lots of resorts that are very family-friendly. Check out the Westin Kierland or the Fairmont Princess. Tons to do. The Fairmont Princess especially has an incredible Christmas-themed festival. You can also hike right here in Scottsdale if you're into that, or go horseback riding. We also have two zoos and two aquariums.
