This list is interesting.. but sounds about right!
Neither my name or my son's name is on the list 
I don't think either ever will be!
But some of the girl names I considered are on there; Adele, Addilyn. As well as some other boy names like Asher.

I definitely considered some of those girls names (and chose one if all "-lyns" count), but the boy name we like isn't on the list at all, so yay!

I'm super surprised that my name is on there (Molly). There are also a couple that are on our list if we have another girl. Our LO's name isn't on there though.

DD's name isn't on there, but DS's is. I don't care. I love their names, and just because they're becoming more popular doesn't mean they're common. Seriously, do you know any baby boys named "Iker"?

I'm pleased that Linus isn't on there. We generally get positive reactions to it and I love that it isn't a name that you hear on the playground.
I've always loved the name Oliver, but it's the number one name in the UK right now, so it was off our list!

I think we've chosen obscure enough names that they won't get too popular (big knock on wood!), but I must say, I'm sad that Mila and Stella are on that list--in high school/college, they were 2 of my favorites! I have since ruled them out based on popularity. On the boys list, I'm sad about Henry and Oliver, but I saw it coming.
Do you girls think Silas will get insanely popular? That's the name we have chosen for a boy and I have never seen it on a popularity list! Here's hoping for a girl.

Yep, the name we are considering is on there! But there are a lot of names on that list, so it's not like they're all going to be #1.

@tororojo: Apparently I'm the first one who suggested it. (We were throwing out every name that we could think of that started with L) When DH brought it back up, I was like "No.", but then it slowly grew on me. Now I love it! Some people have a negative reaction to it, but far more people say "Awesome name!"

@MamaMoose: I still think it's a great name, but I'm a little biased. The only downside is that almost everytime I meet someone they say "I have/had/know someone who has a dog name Molly."

Well Aubrey and Amelia were on our short list for girls! I still love them. None of our top boy names are on the list- I was scared that #1 would be! I’m actually pleasantly surprised that it’s not

@MegWag: DH doesn't like it because he thinks Linus from Peanuts is a downer. I don't get the same association from Peanuts though, and you also have the biblical Linus (Paul's homeboy) and the one from Sabrina (Humphrey Bogart/Harrison Ford--so much win!). I think you guys have great taste!

@tororojo: LOL! Linus from Peanuts is the smart philosopher, not the downer! There's also Linus Pauling the nobel prize winning scientist and Linus Roache the DA on Law & Order:SVU.

every time I look at one of these lists, I get stressed out! I have wanted to name my first daughter Harper since i was in high school and of COURSE it skyrockets the year before I start TTC. Thanks a lot, Victoria Beckham! haha.
I seriously can't decide how much to let it bother me...whether to stick with the name if we have a girl even know she might end up with the dreaded last initial distinguisher, or drop it for something a little less common. Meh.

@Charcole2011: If it makes you feel any better, my name was the #1 name the year I was born. I never really minded the last initial distinguisher, and sometimes I didn't even have other girls in my class with my name. Now, none of my good friends have my name. I think sometimes it's harder on the parent than the kid!

I am a little sad to see our baby girl's name on the list, I know Emery is very popular right now (I've seen 2-3 in the last couple months) but no one I know has an Emerson. Oh well! Oh boy name isn't on there (if we ever have one.) Our other girl name we liked, Everly is on there, that surpirsed me!

to be honest, I don't particularly care if a name is popular if I like it! clearly, since we chose 2012's #4 (I think). it's a name we love, and so be it.

It's funny because my name was apparently #6 the year I was born and I never had another girl in the class with my same name growing up, although I did know a few. I think it must be highly regional, also. Of course, then I went to law school and my roommate there had my same name! It bothered me less by then, though. =)
