I did the 3-hour test as part of my REs work up.

I had my appt scheduled for 6:30am so fasting for 10 hours didn't bother me.. I was basically sleeping!

Can you schedule for super early in the morning?

I scheduled that sucker as early as possible. I was not aloud to have water once I drank the orange crud, but I was aloud to before that.

I honestly can't remember but I scheduled mine for 8am so my 10h prior were spent sleeping, much easier to obey the rules that way!

@locavore_mama: I wasn't allowed to drink water before/during my 3 hour test and it was awful! It was first thing in the morning, but by the time I was done it was nearly 11 am and I usually would have had 64 oz of water by then.

@locavore_mama: @HabesBabe: Was that for the 3hr test though? With my one hours I didn't have to fast and could have what ever I wanted prior to drinking.

@junebugmama: Yup, that was for my 3 hour. I had to fast for both my 1-hour and my 3-hour (food-wise, and any drink other than water).

@locavore_mama: I've never heard of a 3-hour glucose test w/out the drink!

@junebugmama: Yeah, I pretty much RAN across the street to Panera after I was done and swallowed a muffin whole... I was starving.

I didn't have to fast at all before my test. I was destined and expecting to fail, anyways, so I just took the 1 hour test, failed miserably and headed off to the diabetes center without even bothering with the 3 hr. Best thing I have ever done, since LO is doing so well.
