What are your favorite board games?

I was never much into board games after being a kid - I preferred card games. Mostly because I never knew there were adult board games! But I have a friend who's been introducing me to all the fun games!

My favorites are: Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan

Also, dang, why are board games sooo explensive?! :O
