My 3 year old is driving me crazy with the shouting " mooooommmm it's not working" whenever he encounters an in app purchase. We put some apps on the iPad for him before his first flight, but it was over a year ago and we could stand to do some updating.
What are your favorite/kids' favorite preschool iPad apps? They don't necessarily have to be free because it's in app purchases I'd like to avoid.

Starfall. It is pricy for a year membership (maybe $35?) but has a ton of educational options. No ads.

The Endless apps have a subscription option to have the full version of all their apps, limited free versions of the individual apps, or paid versions of the individual apps. The free versions do have an in-app purchase option to upgrade to the full version (or the full universe of apps), but the free versions are complete in and of themselves and they don't market the purchase options at you.

Crayola Creatures
PBS Kids Daniel Tiger Explore DT’s Neighborhood (really outstaning app, great graphics and fun games)
Disney Sofia the First Floating Palace
With Crayola Creatures you get some animals to color for free and then you have to upgrade the app ($) to unlock more animals but it isn’t like annoying an in pop-ups forcing you to buy. We ended up upgrading but LO played on it lots with just the free contents.
Another vote for the Endless apps.

Endless and PBS for sure! PBS has one for videos, and one for games! And we also love Sago Mini.
