What are some of the favorite theme's for a baby shower you've been too? Either gender or gender neutral! I'm throwing my dear cousin a baby shower and can't decide on a theme. it's too early yet to know her gender (and she's not sure if they want to find out) so I'm just gather all ideas! So far I've come up with Cute as a Button for gender neutral, which I think could be fun.

Ours was storybook themed. We carried that theme through to our nursery, too.

when i was planning DS's first birthday party i came across a ton of adorable Lion King themed stuff for a baby shower (I was looking because his nursery was lion king themed). It is great as a gender neutral theme. I would have loved it if someone had discovered it for my baby shower!

For DD it was owls since that was her nursery theme.

@regberadaisy: i'll have to ask! that would be cute! she's very into the Earth, so even a recycled book party would be something she would love...hmmmmm vintage books might be a great theme for her.

I haven't attended showers with themes, usually color schemes dictate the decor.
The themes I like are Children's Books, Fiesta, Where the Wild Things Are, and Lovebug.
For a February Lovebug shower I envision Baby Love invites on the gray background and these decorated candies.

I'm about to plan one for a friend that's Team Green and we're thinking something travel related since they like to travel. Maybe an around the world kinda thing with food famous for each place they've been to or continent depending on feasibility.

@LuLu Mom: @mrsrain: I went to one like this -- AND they matched children's books to food. So, they had a jar of Swedish Fish for One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; chocolate chip cookies and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie; green deviled eggs for Green Eggs and Ham, etc. They put the book near the food. Loved it.

I have heard of a green theme- sounds like it could be up her alley.
Green meaning decor-layer emerald, mint, Kelly greens. And green meaning environmental friendly. Ask thay gifts Come unwrapped, gently used baby items are welcomed! Could be cute! -
We did Mama to Bee for my sister's shower and it was so cute! I'll see if I can find some photos!

@LuLu Mom: I had a book shower and I loved it so much! Guests brought books instead of cards. The theme/decorations was actually Dr. Seuss, but you could do the same thing with other books/authors like Peter Rabbit, Goodnight Moon, etc.
