@Tidybee: loads of sticky baby thoughts. Are you still bleeding?

I got DH to watch The Great Sperm Race last night and he was floored that it takes so much to get pregnant. He kept stopping it and asking all these questions about why the female body works so hard against the sperm. I really didn't have an answer other than "that's just the way it is, we can't tell if you're dangerous or not". And then when it was over I told him "and after all that you have to hope for implantation and everything else!". He then asked if we should BD lol.

2 DPO and I started temping at O just to see if my temps stay consistent. Probably a terrible idea because my temp dipped today. And I'm already symptom spotting. Give me a break.

Welp, I'm out. AF showed up last night, right on CD 26 as expected. Sigh.

@Mrs.Panda: Please roll me down to 2/28! AF is due 3/1, but we all know I'll be testing before then

BTW, silly question, but if AF started last night around 10pm, would you count yesterday as CD 1 or today? My periods generally start in the morning, so I've never really encountered this. Just thought I would ask, not a big deal though

@Mrs.Panda: Maybe you O'd a few days late, and that was an ovulation dip... ? Or are you pretty sure of when you O'd?

    @Tidybee: Super sticky thoughts.

@Mrs.Panda: lol at your DH! It's still early!

As for me, I'm stuck at the hotel in this winter storm Nika. At least it's keeping me from symptom spotting!

@tidybee: ((HUGS)) to you, my friend.

@theotherstark: I would count the first day you have real flow as CD1, no matter what time of day it starts.

As for me, I am still getting very negative OPKs on CD20. I had really hoped that my cycle would be getting back to my normal by now (this is cycle #3 off BCP), but no such luck. Having EWCM and lots of ovary tenderness and bloating, so I know O will be soon, but I hate long cycles. At least with the EOD plan I am not stressing about timing! (I EOD. In case I hadn't already mentioned that. )

@Mrs.Panda: my DH was amazed at that program! He had no idea it took so long to happen, and that's just the beginning stages! And I think of symptom spotting like I do POAS- early and often, lol.

@theotherstark: I'd count yesterday, since you spotted throughout the day.

  17. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@septca: how long throughout the month are you EOD for?

  18. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@Crystal: We started on CD15 because I expected O any time between CD19-23, so I figured that would cover all the bases. I really like it, so I think we'll keep it up until AF shows, although I will probably be less insistent on it after O+1.

    @septca: what's EOD?

Question for anyone... If I am temping and checking CM, but not sure when I will O (no history, 1st cycle charting), when should I use OPK? I'm on CD16 and my last cycle was 27 days.

  20. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@septca: we got our bfp when we BD every day, but I just don't have the stamina for that! If this cycle doesn't work out, ill have to try EOD next cycle.

  21. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@septca: Okay, that's what I thought, but wanted to double-check Thanks! Ugh, and so frustrating on your long cycles. Sounds like you have promising O signs, though!

@Crystal: No spotting yesterday, but am counting it as CD1 since started full flow.

@snowjewelz: I think they recommend starting them on CD 8 or 10? So if I were you, I would start now! Do you know if you already ovulated?

  22. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@snowjewelz: EOD = every other day = an easy way to BD enough to have good timing without stressing about timing.

There are some pretty good charts online that tell you when to start using OPKs depending on your cycle length, but we can work the logic for you: If you usually have a 27-day cycle, let's assume a 14-day LP (your LP could be shorter, but we're dealing with earliest possible scenario for OPKs here)... so that would put O around CD13 which means I would start using OPKs no later than CD9.

Estimated O Date: just guessing February 1st.
    POAS/AF date: February 20th
    Cycle #: 6
    Chart link: n/a
Trying new this cycle: not obsessing over it. Last cycle was horrific ended up being 56 days I believe.
What do your sizzling hot V-Day plans involve? I convinced hubby that we need a couples massage, cant wait!
And because I am craving chocolate right now, what is your favorite V-Day candy? Kit kats are my all time fav

@Crystal: Seriously. With my BFP, we hit O-4, O-2, O-1, O, and O+1, but we were childless and on vacation. Ain't nobody got time for that schedule with a 1 yo and two full-time jobs...

  25. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@septca: we were celebrating our anniversary during O week last time and on vacation, so it was easier.

Right now I'm working 60 hour weeks and I just can't keep up!

  26. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@septca: we avg once every 3-4 days. FF guessed that I O already but I'm not sure if I did! I feel like my only hope now is to BD and start using OPKs daily next cycle.

  27. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@snowjewelz: I agree with the others- I'd start OPKs on cd8 or 9. You could try it now in case you O late or have a short LP, but you may have missed it this cycle.

  28. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@theotherstark: I'm pretty sure of my O date because my ewcm dried up to creamy as of today and it was less the day after O, but who knows this whole O thing is very new to my body. If I O'd today that would make me sad because then we only got O-3 and O-2

  29. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

    @Mrs.Panda: Then hit today!!

  30. theotherstark

Thank you, everyone, for being so kind. It makes being in limbo land so much easier to deal with! About the bleeding - it is ONLY when I go to the bathroom in any capacity. It stops completely in between. I'm using that and the fact that I have no cramping to stay hopeful. I also don't have any pregnancy symptoms and little bouts of nausea earlier in the week seem to have subsided but I had very little with DD, so I'm trying not to read too much into it. I'll just try to stay busy until Friday when I'll get the results of the betas since that's the only way we'll know for sure what is going on. Again, thank you for the thoughts and prayers!

  33. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

We did EOD this cycle with a few everyday thrown in the middle but I think that was too early for O, and we got a BFP so it is definitely sufficient!

  34. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@Tidybee: You don't find out till friday. Thats crazy, normally you can get results same day for betas. I'm sorry for the limbo land. FX you get good news!

  35. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

@littlek: With DD, we were with an RE and I'd get my results like 2 hours later - it was awesome! This time, we are at a normal (and new since we moved) OB/GYN and he took blood yesterday and wants me to go in again tomorrow to see if it's doubling, and then he said he'll get the results and call me Friday.
ETA - he wants to see if they're doubling because he saw a sac with a normal measurement so I'm definitely pregnant, but just isn't sure there was going to be any more growth because he couldn't see if there was blood flow in there.

@theotherstark: I could have written your same post! Spotted throughout the day yesterday, and last night at 10 PM I got some red-but it was still "spotty," so I'm calling today CD1 since I have real flow. Either way, back to the drawing board, eh? I seem to have either perfect 28-day cycles or 31-33 day cycles. Clearly I'm hoping this is miraculously a 28-dayer...or, uh, a 280-dayer

  37. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Crystal: sigh, I will keep the BD up just in case. I thought I wouldn't have O yet even with the temp dip because I didn't really notice CM so I wasn't diligent with BD!

  38. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Tidybee: I think I will try that next cycle as it is SO hard to figure out O! That or use OPK everyday.
