I got one way early on in my pregnancy (before I knew I was pregnant) and had no ill effects.

But I did read some of the same stuff online as what you are talking about. I received a gift certificate as a birthday present, and purposely saved it for when I would be full-term in case it, for some reason, triggered labor (which was one of the precautions I read about). But, since I had already gotten one early on and didn't have any problems, I didn't really think it would do me any harm.

I actually used the gift certificate last night (I'm 38 weeks). No labor triggered. And it felt SO GOOD. I slept through the night for the first time in months, and it helped alleviate a lot of the aches and pains I've been having.

You can always ask your doc and double check, but I'm sure you are fine.

I got one at like 8 weeks not thinking I shouldn't! It was fine - they don't touch your abdomen, mostly just your feet and your shoulders and arms a bit at the beginning.

I'm glad you asked about this! I've been having awful awful upper back pain and been dying to go to my favorite place in Chinatown but was too chicken to. do it Now I think I will go! (But maybe I will tell them I'm pregnant? There's often a language barrier but I guess I can gesture? At this point I am kind of showing...) Hope you are feeling better and not too stressed out as a result!
