@snowjewelz: I'm excited for you!! It would be amazing to get a BFP confirmed on this thread. I think you are right not to test to early though but it is SOOO HARD to wait!

    @ChiCalGoBee: did you o yet?

  2. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Mrs.Lilac: I am pretty weird when it comes to this! I don't know why I am so against testing early. I think it's the fear of getting the BFN and I want to minimize disappointments.

  3. ChiCalGoBee

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@Mrs.Lilac: Yesss.......????? Like I mentioned (er, whined about) a few days ago, my thermometer had been giving bad readings. FF has me at 3 DPO, but I'm guessing it's more like 1-2. I do think it's happened, though, as temps in the low 98s were part of TWW last month and my new thermometer is displaying that.

I'm symptom-spotting like no ones biz, which is ridiculous considering that O was likely super recent! Creamy CM, painful nips (verrrrry occasionally), twinges in the ovary/ute area. I'm purposefully trying NOT to SS, but then a twinge catches me off-guard and...??

    How are you, waiting buddy?

  4. Mrs.Lilac

    apricot / 348 posts

@snowjewelz: I going to try and hold off to test too. FF tells me to wait tip until the 10th march which is weird as AF is due on the 5th... Gonna compromise and test on the 6th I think.

@ChiCalGoBee: I would be symptom spotting too but I haven't felt anything yet but I'm only 3dpo (yay, Like you!) so I'm not expecting much. I would love to feel something though. My friend told me she was feeling sick and had really sore boobs in the second of the the TTW but I don't think that is very common but who knows.

I am trying to be patient and not think about it 24/7 but it is hard, as I'm sure we can all attest to, especially as I'm a teacher of 4/5 year olds and about 6 of my mums have just had a baby and keep bringing them in to show me. If I wasn't broody already... Just got to try and keep my mind off it! There is no getting around it, I would be devastated if I get a BFN.

  5. ChiCalGoBee

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@Mrs.Lilac: I know exactly what you mean. Beyond just wanting the BFP (and a sticky, healthy baby!) ASAP, it would mean I could share it with my entire family in person in April. I know that's a stupid reason, but we live all across the country from one another and to be able to share it face-to-face would be amazing.

Wishful thinking!! I'm now sad we didn't BD more than twice during my fertile window. I know logically that it "only takes once," but still. Here's hoping!!!

As for testing...I bought Wondfos, so will likely test earlier than I should. As in, next weekend. However, waiting for AF or not would probably be better for my mental health?

PS I didn't know you were a teacher! I used to teach kindergarten, and now teach 4th graders:-). Fun!

@ChiCalGoBee: I have bought an early detection clear blue so I keep thinking, hmm, maybe I could test on the 3rd march but I really am going to try and hold off.

Yes I'm a teacher, it's the first year I have thought such young ones as I used to teach older grades. I love this age though, they are so adorable

I've been visiting my nephew who lives far away all weekend, which has made the first few DPO fly by. However, I know that this work week will draggggg, and now that I have Wondfos it's SO hard to not POAS every morning. It'd be lovely if I had the willpower to hold out until this weekend, but I might cave and test earlier. Don't feel much symptom-wise so although I'm hopeful, I'm not counting on it this cycle. Timing was great, but we all know it's still so random.

How's everyone else doing? I know lots of you are TWWing with me!

Guys, I'm so, so bummed out today. I had some spotting this morning, at only 8dpo. I had a small bit of spotting last month on cycle days 8 and 9, and got my hopes up so high that it was implantation spotting. But, of course, AF came right on time. So I'm really, really discouraged for this cycle, since it's happening again.

I also am having pretty strong cramps this morning, like the kind I usually only get once AF is already here.

I'm so upset I know it's silly, but I was so hopeful for this cycle! Pooh. Sorry to be such a downer.

Did everyone have a nice weekend? I can't remember - is anyone POAS this week?? I was going to tomorrow at 9 dpo (early, I know. I can't help myself), but now with this spotting and cramping I'm super bummed and probably will just wait until AF.

@theotherstark: I am so sorry to hear I had period cramps two nights in a roll just before AF too, made me hopeful for as second. I totally feel you! I was completely negative during the last few days before AF. I think I was just trying to be realistic and not TOO hopeful but then I was just not pleasant to be around lol. I think there are still a few people waiting to POAS over on the Feb board. BUUUT. If AF hasn't come, don't just roll yourself over yet!

Hello hello! Had a great and super busy long weekend but I'm glad to be back to real life and to catch up with you all. Two things about my TWW so far:

    1. Having this trip right after O has made the time fly by. I can't believe its 7dpo already! If only there was a perfectly timed major distraction every cycle.

    2. Here's the secret to keeping from symptom-spotting- overdoing it a little in yoga class! Oh is that implantation I feel? NOPE, just 90% of my muscles recovering from being stretched to the max lol

  14. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@anyajenkins: Haha too funny! Maybe I should work out extra hard, so I can't blame exhaustion as a symptom

I could not have timed our vacation in March more perfectly. It's supposed to be right after my POAS date, so I either go and celebrate, or go in consolation and drink as much as I want

  15. Mrs.Lilac

    apricot / 348 posts

@snowjewelz: I'm going away the weekend after I POAS too! it's to a spa for the weekend with my husband. I'm so excited. I'll either be celebrating a BFP (fx) and have lots of healthy foods and relaxation or be commiserating a BFN but get to sample the sauna or hot tubs which I won't be able to do if KU. it couldn't be a more perfect either way. it definitely helps to have something to look forward to to take your mind off things!

@anyajenkins: I was thinking about yoga this weekend (I go to a regular class). My gym doesn't do pregnancy yoga and I was wondering about wether you can still just go to regular yoga? hmmm, il hopefully find out next week!!

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@anyajenkins: Good to hear from you! Agreed about the trip helping with DPO.....if I only I could distract myself until this weekend until testing! I have Wondfos...last month I only had FRERs, so wasted a lot of $$ by testing too early. This cycle although I know it's SO DUMB to test early, I might just give in and do it with FMU later this week, expecting BFN.

    When will you test???

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@Mrs.Lilac: I'm impressed with all of you yogis. I have tried to do yoga over the years and just can't get excited about it. Running is really my thing. We'll see what happens if/when I get KU!

  18. Anya

    nectarine / 2784 posts

    @snowjewelz: perfect!

@Mrs.Lilac: that sounds divine. As for the yoga, I think it's fine with some adjustments as you grow. What style do you do? My class is a heated style, so I'll have to ask my midwife about that (not super hot like bikram, probably around 90-95 degrees)

@ChiCalGoBee: my official poas date is march 3rd but I think I'll test on Saturday or Sunday at CD12/13 just because I'd rather do it on the weekend. I just started running about 6 months ago! I'm still getting into it, right now I just do about 2 miles at a time during my lunch break

I am new to this board, just signed up this morning. I just got off the nuva ring on 2/2 (after being on it for about 11 years). I started my period on 2/4. On Saturday (2/22) afternoon I began spotting, very little - but it has continued and I'm still spotting today. Not enough for a pad/tampon. This morning I used one of my Wondfo PG tests, and got a very faint 2nd pink line. No idea if this could be a false positive or what? I'm supposed to get my period on on Monday 3/3. I'm not sure if I could possibly be PG or not? Or is my body still getting used to being off BC?

I love that I've found this site to express my concerns with someone other than my DH

@DeannaY1230: Welcome!!! Do you happen to know the lot number of your Wondfos? A lot of ladies will look that up and google to see if anyone has had trouble with false positives before. I would also recommend posting a picture of the test, if you have it. A lot of ladies here (talking about you, @Septca) have the most incredible eyes in the world and can pretty much tell you if you need to go out and buy a FRER (First Response test, which is the best for confirming) or if its an evap.

ETA: Did the line show-up in the allotted timeframe? Sorry for the plethora of questions. I'm a FRER girl myself, never had the patience for Wondfos.

@DeannaY1230: Welcome! Hmm, it's strange that you keep spotting for so long. But there is no denying a BFP line, however faint! It's one thing to spot & your body is just regulating, but it's another to get a line on a test! I would def suggest for you to test again later this week/weekend! I am not expert since I'm new to TCC, but your timeframe def make it possible, I think! Good luck!

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@DeannaY1230: Welcome!! The spotting could just be implantation bleeding - I know I have heard some women get it for a few days. I would suggest getting a First Response Early Result (FRER) test, and see what that gives you! Use First Morning Urine (FMU) to get the most accurate results. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you!

  27. ChiCalGoBee

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@DeannaY1230: Keep us posted! I actually have two friends who used the NuvaRing and had (accidental) pregnancies, so it seems like for some reason it might be easier to get KU coming off that than other BCs? Keep in mind I'm no doctor or scientist....I just have seen it happen twice personally:-).

  28. ChiCalGoBee

    nectarine / 2028 posts

Ladies: I've reached a place of acceptance. I shouldn't be testing yet. Of course not. IF I'm pregnant, I probably haven't even implanted yet. However....I have Wondfos, and they are cheap, and I've decided that if I just "HAVE" to test-then I'm going to let myself do it. I know it's going to be BFN, so it actually doesn't make me sad when it is. However, a BFN on Sunday/Monday would definitely make me sad! Anyway, just wanted to say that if you can't help but test I feel ya....and it's okay! No judgements from this POAS-a-holic!

I will keep you posted. I plan on testing with FRER on Saturday morning - and will likely continue testing with my Wondfo strips until then. I just can't help it! My DH and I really weren't trying yet as I wanted 1 full month off of BC.

DH works nights so he comes to see me everyday on my lunch break. Since I had a lot of EWCM last night, I had him drive to a wooded area and we totally did the BD in his truck during my lunch break. hahaha.

@BakerBee: the lot number is W00130174-3. I took another one tonight and again there was a faint 2nd line. I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures here the line did show up in the allotted time frame. Maybe even a little earlier?

  32. LBee

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

@DeannaY1230: Ugh, I hate to tell you this but looks like some women have had false positives on these. I just googled it. Try having your husband pee on one and see if it turns positive. Having two positives is a great sign!!

But fingers still really, really crossed!!! I think this could totally be the real dea! I would recommend doing a FRER just so you can get a definitive answer.

ETA: @Mrs. Jump Rope had this lot number and I think struggled with false positives, but another Bee did and didn't, so I think it just depends.

    I was summoned???

@DeannaY1230: If you can figure out to post a picture, that would be awesome. I am pretty darn good at telling the real thing from an evap or false positive at this point. A couple of years ago, I swore by Wondfos because I always had very clear results. I got my BFP at 10 DPO on a Wondfo that was much clearer than the + on the FRER the same day. Fast forward... Now that we are TTC #2, I have had terrible luck with Wondfos - I have seen an evap every time.

All of that said, it is very VERY possible that you are getting good results, because the tests *do* work. Please do take a FRER with FMU tomorrow and let us know! Good luck!!!

  34. ChiCalGoBee

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@septca: Oh POAS Goddess: Impart your wisdom on me!

I'm 6-7 DPO, and bought a batch of Wondfos, well knowing that I'm a test-a-holic and not wanting to waste $$ on FRERs so early on. So far I haven't seen anything-no evap, etc. Obviously I haven't-it's way too early! However, over the next few days (8,9,10 DPO) I'm hopeful that a sensitive test might find something? Maybe?

I'm wondering is which is most sensitive: Wondfos, FRERs, or digitals? The Wondfos came in two plastic bags without info on HCG sensitivity so I began to wonder how sensitive my three types of tests are (yes, I have all three types of tests).

My Wondfo batch has the lot number: W00121124-3

THANK YOU for your advice! And if you don't feel like answering my insane questions, I totally get it-no worries!

@snowjewelz: @chicalgobee: haha! It was a little awkward at first but was kind of exciting! Hoping I do get KU though! It'll make a hilarious "this is how you were conceived" story.

  38. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@ChiCalGoBee: Okay - "beta" is the blood level of pregnancy hormones (hcg) that your doctor would test for. Anything over a 5 is considered a positive pregnancy test. In a healthy pregnancy, your betas double at least every 48 hours until they hit about 1200, and then the doubling rate slows to at least every 72 hours. Wondfos are supposedly able to detect a beta of 10, FRERs a beta of 6. Digitals are *not* very sensitive and only detect at 25. Because betas are supposed to double, your tests *should* get darker every day. This doesn't happen for everyone, but if you are getting the same faint line on a Wondfo day after day, chances are high that it's a false positive.

Once sperm meets egg, it has to travel back to the uterus and implant. Implantation, which sometimes (rarely) causes spotting and/or cramping, occurs roughly 5-10 days after O. It then takes 2-3 days for hcg levels in your blood to rise high enough to show in your urine. Given that timeline, you *really* should wait until at least 12 DPO to test. 10 DPO if you are really going crazy. But I will be honest - I test at 8, 10, 11, and 12. After that I don't test again until AF is late (which has never happened).

I strongly encourage using Wondfos for early testing and only breaking out a FRER if you have clear second line. I don't usually waste money on digitals, but with DD that was the only test DH believed. I got a + Wondfo and FRER at 10 DPO, but didn't get a + digital until 14 DPO. My beta at 10 DPO was a 7 (so my Wondfo experience was that it was more sensitive than advertised).

Okay, last thing and then I am shutting up. My mother hen advice: as much as I am all for early testing, you have to know yourself and be honest about whether it's a good idea for you. I convince myself I am KU every darn cycle, so waiting until AF shows is devastating. Testing early keeps my expectations in check and I don't have a problem seeing negative tests. But that is not the case for every woman. So know yourself. And good luck!!!

@ChiCalGoBee: So I am doing okay. I am just feeling so overwhelmed, I think. I am taking three classes a quarter and working full time. I get no downtime at work anymore. I'm just starting to feel a little ragged. Keeps my mind off of TTC a bit though. But then again- I'm not sure if that is good either. I have been doing affirmations this month, so I am feeling a bit off.

When saying good night to me the other night, my husband put a hand on my tummy and said, "Good night, little one, I hope you are in there."

UGH. It was hard. It's one thing to deal with MY disappointment. It's something very different to also have DH be disappointed. I feel very pessimistic when I am not consciously doing my affirmations.
