Just had our first group of kids pop by at 7:05 pm. This year the kids have a choice- Reese's Cup or "Ghoul-aid" by Kool-Aid. The kids chose juice because it's so hot outside!
What time did you get your first ToTers & what are you giving away?

We got our first around 6:30. We have goldfish, mini cheese balls, twizzlers, Milky Way, Snickers, and Halloween Kit Kats. We have had less than 20 kids at this point. We live in a quiet street!

ToT in our county was 6-8 last night. We actually took E to a different neighborhood because there were almost no lights on in our development...we thought people were just starting later there (we started at 6 on the dot because toddler...) but apparently everyone else had the same idea? My mom said we got all of 3 kids, the first one at 7:30...and it was Evan when we came home and took him around to the few houses participating (but the 4 houses we went to here filled up his bucket halfway, lol).
We had Reese's cups and Kit Kats...most of which was left...more for pregnant lady to nom on!!!

Trick or treating was last night because of awful weather today. But the city designates the official time as 6-8.

I live in an apartment building, so no trick or treaters. But lots of blocks started giving candy out at 3 this afternoon. We started trick or treating at 4 and some houses were already out of candy by then.

We did not get our first trick or treaters until 6:30. I am so surprised since it is a Saturday and it was beautiful out, so I thought trick or treaters would be out earlier (we have no time limit in our town). We have not had that many either. I hope more come and save me from having to eat all this candy myself!

We never get many trick or treaters (everyone trick or treats the merchants downtown), but we've gotten about 10 so far tonight
Offered choice of chocolate candies: snickers, twix, etc. non-chocolate: lollipops. Non-candy: stickers.

We got kids starting just before 6. At 7:30 my husband left to get pizza and I was putting B to bed so we just out a bowl of candy on the porch. At 8:10 when I went to blow out the pumpkins and turn out the lights there were still a few pieces left, which surprised me. And then, of course, somebody ignored the fact that the pumpkins were blown out and the porch and hall lights were off and pounded on the door - it was a dad and 2 kids, which surprised me, I thought adults would know better! It happens every year but usually it's teenagers.

@erinbaderin: ughhj we are lights out too and I PRAY no one knocks, the dogs are so loud!

We only had 47 kids stop by and I still have four pieces of candy left from the first bag and an entire unopened bag. It's so late though I think the clearly-in-HS door knockers at 9 pm were the last group.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I'm impressed you counted exactly 47!
Our first ToTers showed up around 6:15. By 6:45 the neighborhood was hopping. We set out a bowl and headed out. We got back about 7:30 and handed out candy for another 20 minutes or so. By 8ish everybody was done.

We got out 1 and only trick or treater around 615. They were collecting for the food bank and not even candy. We went out with the girls and left a big bowl of candy out and there wasn't any gone when when got back! We never had anyone else come. We live in a condo complex and people never come down into our houses. The street we live on was dead, but the connecting main street was busy. It was always insane when I was a kid, now it's so much quieter.

We've been working for YEARS to get more trick or treaters. Ilive on a really quiet street for that sort of thing, but we've been decorating and passing out candy every year since we moved in. This year we almost went through a whole bag! First ToTs came around 6:30, and last came through around 8:15. We closed up at 9.

DD kicked it off at 6:15. The older neighborhood kids had been gathering at our next door neighbors. As soon as they gave candy to my toddler they turned on all their scary decorations and headed out to trick or treat. About 5 minutes later everyone was out and about. Our last kids came at 8:15.
ETA: Just got a group at 9:51

We had our first group at 5.45pm and our last group group at just before 7. We had about 10 groups in total. The kids are so polite in our new street - they all said thankyou and happy Halloween. It was lovely.

First ones came around 3:00, and it was really busy until 4:30. Then we left to do our own TOTing and visit my parents, so I just left a bowl on our front step. All the candy was gone when I came home at 9:00 ... Our city bylaw has TOTing ending at 7:00pm

First ones came around 6:15- my MIL handed out candy for a bit while I went out with K and DH. They continued when it started raining (I passed out candy). We had maybe 50 kids? Turned out the lights before 9.

TOTing was 6-8 last night. I bought way too much candy. We had a lot of TOTers but I went crazy buying candy. I will have to find a place to donate our leftover candy.

I got tons of candy not wanting to run out in our new neighborhood, but we got no tot-ers! So more for our own party at our house.

We got absolutely cleaned out, we had to turn kids away last night. I would estimate at least 100 kids.
First ones came out at 6:30 and we gave out an assortment of stuff.
