I've just been put on the FODMAP diet in hopes of helping my digestion problems (similar to paleo, but more specific). I was wondering if anyone else has been prescribed this, and has any tips for me?

I don't have any tips but my sister eats this way and it's helped her A LOT. Her digestive issues have cleared up quite a bit and she can feel an immediate difference when she eats even the littlest bit of something that's not FODMAP approved. It's very strict but it seems like it's SO worth it. Good luck

@Running Elley: Thanks! Everything I hear about it is good, so it sounds worth it. Just a TON to take in.

I'm on a FODMAP diet. The initial elimination stage is pretty overwhelming and restrictive, but once I figured out which specific things made me react it got much easier to manage. Its been incredibly successful at managing my symptoms.
If you have any specific questions, let me know!

I've never been on it, but am familiar with it because I'm pretty familiar with paleo and the paleo community. I would recommend that you check out Diane Sanfilipo's book Practical Paleo, which has recipes as well as tons of info on paleo and ther various permutations thereof. Her podcast, Balanced Bites, is also awesome. If you browse through the archives you can probably find some episodes that cover issues with regard to the FODMAPs diet.

Going to google this now....good luck! We've been on a paleo-ish diet (not as strict) the last few months and it's been great for us. It seemed hard to learn all the guidelines at first, but now I've got it down and have fun learning a new way to cook.

My husband is on a FODMAP diet due to digestive issues that were ultimately diagnosed as IBS (because every other test came up negative!). He's eliminated all of the gaseous vegetables and many fruits and he's been so much better. What kind of tips are you looking for?

Thanks everyone! I hope I do as well as people seem to do on it, it seems a bit daunting at the moment.
@Sammyfab: I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, maybe hidden things to look out for?

@Elderberrygin: Thanks for the encouragement
Just curious, I was hoping to find someone who was on it to help get pregnant. Were you on it while TTC at all?

@Mrs.Someone: Sorry, just saw this. I was on it already while TTC. I'd been on it for about three years to treat irritable bowel syndrome so not specifically to help get pregnant.
