I'm the master of watching good shows after they're completely off the air and I just recently started watching Friday Night Lights. I'm halfway through season 3 and hooked!
I also just started watching the BBC Sherlock, and it is so good!
Both are available on Netflix.

@mrbee: I've only seen one episode, but it's good enough for me to continue watching it - I like it so far. It's like the American version of Sherlock, except Lucy Liu plays the role of Watson. It's not as good as Sherlock though.

I watched FNL during maternity leave (which just ended on Tuesday) and loved it. I sat on the couch holding or nursing the baby and crying through most of the episodes. I practically had letdown just from hearing the opening credits music! I watched the series finale on my last day of leave and it felt vaguely symbolic to wrap up both at the same time.
I think someone should cut together all the scenes with Coach/Tami and Julie and sell them as a parenting manual DVD.

Ugh fnl ruined tv for me forever...nothing I've watched since comes close! I'm trying to like parenthood right now but I'm only on the second episode. For me, the only thing near fnl in quality/addictiveness is downton abbey.

@Mrs. Bee: have you seen Parenthood?! So good! I also liked FNL, but wasn't in love with it... maybe it was the football angle which I wasn't crazy about, haha

@Boopers: oh my gosh...it's been so long. Mostly all football scenes. Season 1 where they went to semi finals and championship. Also when smash was getting discriminated/racially harassed. Let me see if I have any pictures still somewhere.

@Boopers: I found some old photo's I took with my phone (before the days of smart phones)
I played a "nerdy student" in the cafeteria as well as a pompom girl. The rest of the time I was in the bleachers.
We did a lot of overnight shoots. I started working on season 1 while I was unemployed. Then I got a "real" job and cut back to shoots that were on Thursday's, Fridays, Saturdays or early evening.

@Mrs. Bee: I tried watching FNL and didn't get into it... I'll have to try again! I am the same as you - I always watch the show after it's off the air and on netflix! I was watching PLL and LOVE it but I just couldn't keep up with watching it and fell behind... netflix has been awful about updating the seasons though 
Right now I'm watching Greys Anatomy on Netflix! I think I'm on season 6.

I watched the whole FNL series on Amazon instant video in December when LO was born. I am onto Prison Break, now, and have watched a few other old shows I never watched when they were on air since then.

@rawrasaur: yup, used to live in Austin...the state gives generous tax breaks to production companies that use Texas actors...so had a ton of fun doing that as a side job.
