@littleredhairedgrl: Pylos might be my favorite restaurant ever. I'm drooling thinking about their Greek salad. And I hear ya on moving out. We were in the EV and even though we're only in Brooklyn now, I sooo miss the food!
@JHD: The best dessert ever in the world is the Sticky Toffee Pudding at Schiller's in the LES. I don't even have words to describe it but TRUST.

@Modern Daisy: ummm...being pregnant is excuse enough! Heck, living next to such deliciousness is plenty excuse.
And, I'm *still* incredibly jealous. Those cookies are seriously tasty goodness sent from heaven.

Second the recommendation for Smorgasburg. There is also one in Dumbo every Sunday set against jaw dropping views of Manhattan, and you could combine it with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Hi! Places DH and I love (and I'm really limiting the list for your sake):
Fast/casual:
-Shake Shack Shack burger (long wait but totally worth it. If weather is nice you must go to the original in Madison Sq. Park)
-Lukes lobster for the BEST lobster role you will ever eat (owner has the lobsters flown in from New England every day)
-Pinche Taqueria
-Rice to Riches (if you like rice pudding. They have probably 30 or so flavors)
-Baked by Melissa! Awesome mini cupcakes. You can just pop it in your mouth and they are so good. My fave is PB&J!
Casual sit down:
-Hill Country or Blue Smoke (BBQ)
-Joes Shanghai for soup dumplings
-Kum Gang San for Korean BBQ
-Lombardi's for authentic Italian pizza (not a NY slice). Claim to be Americas first pizza place in 1905 and still have the original brick oven.
Nice sit down:
-Stanton Social for awesome "modern" tapas...things like French onion soup dumplings which are AMAZE. Dinner or brunch are both awesome. It's been around for years and still a huge hit. It's not fancy schmancy but definitely not casual so do this if you want to have a nice night out.
-this would be a splurge but if you can do it...Norma's at Le Parker Meridien for brunch. DH and I are obsessed with this place and as soon as we hear we're having visitors it's the first reservation we make. In the end it's $30-50 per person depending on what you get but everyone we've ever taken is blown away. Get the bacon!!!
Ok I could do this for hours! We love food Let me know if there's anything else you are interested in!

@AuntieEm: I second Lombardi's! Best pizza and caesar salad I've ever had. I also second Baked by Melissa! I think there is a little spot down the street from Lombardi's.

@boiledpnut: @jhd: yes! There is a Baked by Melissa a couple blocks from Lombardis. It was the first BBM...just a window in the side of a restaurant. I actually used to work in soho and my coworker was good friends with Melissa so we went all the time when she first opened! It's really grown since then, she has so many locations and provides cupcakes to so many celeb parties and such! Crazy!
ETA: Rice to Riches is across the street from Lombardis too!
