We use little tummy's gas drops.
I tried gripe water but since I exclusively nurse it was just too much per dose to try & give DD on its own. I've also tried the colic calm tablets but they're a pain to try & hold on DDs tongue.

We use Little Tummy's gripe water, but I think we're going to have to get the drops for the same reason @runsyellowlites: says. It's definitely a pain to give that much to a 6 week old. Though we've had some success by letting her drink it from a bottle nipple. It's much easier than the syringe.

Gripe water. The kind I use is from Canada... they don't sell it in the states for some reason. I think it has a tiny, tiny bit of alcohol in it? Or maybe that's just an urban legend....

We use Walmart brand gas drops and little tummys gripe water. The gripe water freaked me out at first. She cried and cried and cried so I put the gripe water in this little medicine cup thing with a nipple on it that came in a first aid thing we have and she sucked it right down and IMMEDIATELY stopped crying. I called my husband and told him about it and I told him I thought I was going crazy bc I worry when she's crying then give her something and then I worry when she stops crying lol

I have used Ovol gas drops, never tried gripe water though. Neither are recommended by the pediatricians that I work with though, and my family doctor told me they are both a waste of money.

we use Mommys Bliss gripe water. I also give it to her directly since I breastfeed but its not too hard to get her to drink it. It also helps when she has hiccups.

The Mylicon drops worked great for us, our lactation consultant recommended them.

We use one called Infacol, which is a British brand. I think it's pretty much the same as Little Tummy's.

Generic mylicon here. I'm still too afraid to use at every feeding so only when she fusses.

@winniebee: I'm a little anal about meds even though I know mylicon is not medication.
I'm one of those that will suffer in pain before resorting to medication...

I also used mylicon. But she ended up having reflux..... so I don't know if it worked because she'd still fuss.

Mylicon! We used it religiously! Really helped until Wagon Jr. figured out how to fart on his own

Our pediatrician doesn't recommend it so I didn't use them.

Mylicon drops have been the only thing that works really well for us. We tried gripe water and little tummies gas drops but neither of them helped.

I just tried the drops for the first time. Hoping for the best

Nothing. I've found they don't really work at all. They'll get LO to stop crying but I think it's just because I'm squirting something sweet in his mouth. Also most of them only break up gas in the stomach, not intestinal gas.
The gripe water does stop lo's hiccups but I think even if I squirted plain water in his mouth it would do the same thing.

@wheres_c: we use them! Hopefully they work for you! We also really like mommys bliss gripe water

@wheres_c: The midwives I spoke to don't recommend gas drops because their theory is that you can treat the symptoms, but not really address the cause (gas drops), or you can treat the cause and then not have symptoms to worry about (probiotics). It made sense to us so we started using probiotics to bulk up the good bacteria in the intestines and have never had a problem since then.
