I am deciding between a zoo themed or fairy themed party for my DD's 4th Birthday. There will be a bunch of 4 year old boys there as well. Would your 4 year old boy find a fairy themed party just way too girly? How would you make it a bit more boy friendly but still fun & girly?
I was thinking Tinkerbell + Peter Pan-esque? Would appreciate any ideas.

@hummusgirl: she has Always been a huge animal lover. Two years in a row asked to go to the zoo on her birthday when we asked. So, I highly suspect she'll vastly prefer a zoo party!

@pinkcupcake: haha I'm not sure yet! Still 4 months away. Hoping to do a friend party this year which would mean a venue party. DH wouldn't be comfortable inviting daycare friends to our home. So a venue needs to be decided first. But we have a local kids play cafe that does fairy parties and they'll provide activities.

My 8 year old niece just had a flower themed party and there were boys there. My 3 year old DS would love both dragons and fairies.

Boys still don't really care at that age. I think fairies could be fine depending on if the activities are girly or not. When my daughter turned 4, she wanted a Sofia the First theme but I made the goody bags gender neutral. The party was at MyGym so activities were for boys and girls.

You can't go wrong with Peter Pan or dragons. If you had some sort of swords (maybe a balloon artist that can make all kinds of goodies) I know my boy would personally be as happy as a clam.
