I'm really trying not to too, especially since we really honestly would be totally happy with either one but I'd slightly prefer a girl. DH would prefer a boy as our first though so we'll see what happens.

I really wanted a boy first and blinked back tears at my gender ultrasound...i feel so guilty for reacting that way. love my girl!

Oddly enough we wanted a boy off the bat too and were adament that we would sway boy. We've been told a couple of times now that Baby is most likely a little girl and we found that we got really attached to the idea of a daughter quickly. So much so that when my MIL pointed out the umbilical cord between babies legs and we thought it was a boy I freaked! Haha

I have always wanted a girl first, I'm scared that I'll have all boys, and I raelly want that mother/daughter experience. However, in my gut I know we are having a boy so I'm trying to get excited about it! And it will be a even bigger surprise if it turns out to be a girl!

I don't have a preference. What difference does it make? Seriously. It doesn't matter. I've seen so many people be disappointed by their child's sex, and then treat the child differently because of it. It's horribly sad, for the parents and children.

I think the problem boils down to those long-held gender roles...girls are "supposed to be" all sugar and spice, boys are "supposed to be" wild and dirty. We raise our children to fulfill those expectations, instead of treating all children with the same kind of care REGARDLESS of their sex, and appreciating them for who they are.

No preference with either pregnancy and we never discussed what we thought the baby would be; however after my DD was born both my husband and I said we thought I was having a boy. Excited to see which we have this time

I was really wanting a girl first. But everyone keeps saying they think it's a boy, so I feel like I'm going to disappoint them if it's a girl (even though I know they will be thrilled either way). I'm going to be happy with a girl or boy.

The very first time I got pregnant, I had an ectopic pregnancy which required surgery and was told that we could possibly have another ectopic the 2nd time. When we went in for an ultrasound, we were just happy the baby landed in my uterus and couldn't care less about the gender! We ended up having a boy but a girl would've been totally fine too! I just didn't want another ectopic!
