We're finding out the gender soon and I want to plan some cool way to reveal the gender to our friends and family (because they think we're not finding out for quite awhile). I don't want to do a party because honestly my mom and my dad do NOT get along and I don't want to have to throw two separate parties. So I was thinking I could mail everyone something that would announce the gender. I just need some cool ideas. I've seen a few on pinterest but figured you creative ladies might have some others?!

I've seen some cute mailed announcements that have the ultrasound pic, and either a bow tie or a hair bow on baby. You could also just stuff a card with pink or blue confetti and mail those out (messy, but effective, haha).

My friend mailed her family eggs from etsy. The eggs had confetti and a piece of paper with "it's a boy" on it inside. They were super cute!

A friend of mine just did a gender reveal photo shoot. She, her DH, and 2 kids did a super cute thing with silly string. They had another friend buy pink silly string and found out the gender during a photo shoot when they started spraying each other with it. They made cute little cards and sent them to family and friends announcing the gender.

What about a simple card on the front says it's a...inside boy/ girl? And stuff the card I with blue or pink confetti.

@artbee: Thanks! A friend of mine just did that to share with everyone on FB. I really like the idea of somehow inflating a small gender-colored helium balloon and mailing it to people (since all live closeby) with the news, but I'm not sure of the logistics of it all.

@marionberry: I saw a cute one where the couple mailed a pink balloon and a blue balloon to each person they wanted to announce to. Since they're having a boy, the pink balloon had a tiny hole in it and only the blue one would blow up. It was so fun!

I did mine during our big Chinese New Year dinner. I stuffed 7 red envelopes with a piece of paper that said Happy New Year or Wishing You Prosperity in Chinese and 1 red envelope with the gender. I had my family all draw an envelope then open them at once.

I always liked all the balloon ideas. He's some more cute ones! If I were in your shoes I'd just have some pictures taken and printed and mail them, lol.
