At 8w+, it looked very round/oval shaped.
But at 9w+ it was mostly round with one little almost pointy looking part. The doctor never said anything, just that everything looks fine, but Dr. Google says odd shaped gestational sacs are associated with miscarriage.
Anyone know if that's true? Tell me I'm crazy!

I had a very oval shaped one with my second pregnancy and I miscarried shortly after. My dr said it had already started to deteriorate. At 7 weeks, there was also no heartbeat so there were other factors at play. Round is good, though!

I had an oblong sac that looked concave and Dr. Google said miscarriage for me also and I was totally freaked out! I am 18 weeks now. I think the fact that it is round now is good!

Hmmm my 8 week US is pretty oval looking...I wouldn't read too much into it esp if the U.S. tech didn't say anything!

Never heard about that before so I can't even remember what mine looked like. Dr. Google can be a real debbie downer sometimes, try not to worry! Congrats!

I never heard of this - my sac is like a kidney bean, my dad and MIL both commented that it looks like a heart. I'm 11 weeks and my doctor never mentioned it, so I'm not concerned ! Could always be the angle that the pic was taken from?

If your doctor didn't seem concerned about it I wouldn't worry yourself too much! Was your bladder really full? A too full bladder can distort the shape of the sac a little- especially early on.
