I feel like the days are really long right now. I'm ready to be past the risky phase and into the second tri, but I'm only 5w2d! Did you do anything to help the first tri pass by quickly?

I was like this, too. Around week 8 or 9 everything started to go so fast. I'm 13w now and I could swear I was just 9w yesterday. Just give it some time to not feel so new.

I just slept as much as possible. My biggest symptom was exhaustion and I literally came home from work and fell asleep. My husband would wake me up to eat dinner and then I'd fall asleep again. Things flew by like that, haha!

Reading Expecting Better by Emily Oster really helped me mentally feel good about the pregnancy in the beginning. Not sure if it will be your jam, but I find statistics soothing. I referred a friend to it and she said it stressed her out and had to revisit it later in the pregnancy. Being able to cut out the worrying really was helpful.

I'm 13.5 Wks now and have just been trying to focus on each milestone rather than the whole 9 months. Like x days until we tell our parents, x days until first appointment, first ultrasound, going public, etc.
I'm now focusing on the beginnings of a real bump, and counting the weeks until our anatomy scan.
I also started working on our registry early on to give me something to focus my energy on since it's too early to buy anything.
Maybe join a prenatal yoga class too?

I'm going through this now! I'm 8 weeks today, and just feel like it's going so so slowly! Trying to enjoy it, but I just want this hesitant phase go be over.

I tried to focus on good pregnancy healthy eating. I was lucky though with no m/s. It helped me focus on something prefnancy related without going too crazy researching and shipping for stuff.

@twodoghouse: Same. I basically slept my way through the first tri.
@Mrs. Oatmeal: You're pregnant?!?! Congrats!!

Same as @buttermilk: I tried to countdown to milestones instead of focusing on weeks. Doc appts also made it fly by. After the first appt, the weeks between appts seemed to go by fast.
I was also sick and sleeping a lot after six weeks. So I just tried to focus on being healthy, etc. work and toddler craze helped w distraction too.
And of course commiserating on hb is always good!

I just find the whole darn thing drags for me endlessly. This is my second, and I have never lost count of how long I have been pregnant for.

Something I had to do anyway - I was keeping a spreadsheet for each day to track my PIO, numbers, dr visits, phone calls, etc. It was helpful to be able to log something every day and see that the days were adding up and then weeks and then magically it was adding up to a whole trimester and I got to start a new spreadsheet. The weeks really do start going by faster after a while even though they seem like they won't!

@Mrs. Oatmeal: hey congrats! I'm 8 weeks Monday!!
So, first time I remember the first tri taking forreevvverrrr. This time it already seems to be going fast-ish except the nausea just hit last week and it's been tough to get through the day, I'm spending a lot of time eating to keep it at bay.

@Leialou: After a couple losses, I was in denial for a while and then I got so sick that one day just bled into the other.

@Mrs. Oatmeal: Congrats!
I was bad at this because the beginning days, I counted it all. But then life gets back going and you swing through it.

@Mrs. Oatmeal: Congratulations!
@Leialou: Do you get early u/s? It helped me to think from u/s to u/s instead of thinking in (pregnancy) weeks. Some at least

I know it's nearly impossible, but not focusing on the pregnancy has helped make the time go by faster. At first it was all I could think about, and when I thought about how tired or sick I felt it only made it worse, and it seemed to take FOREVER to get to each new week on my pregnancy app. Then, I had a big trial to prepare for at work, and while I still took my vitamins, ate right, etc., I wasn't JUST thinking about the pregnancy, and that helped a lot.

I worked a lot (desk job, so not strenuous) and I filled up my weekends with light activities (my first tri was March/April/May) outside.
