The older two are 10 and 7 - she already bought the big stuff, a baby bathtub, various meds and lotions, and swing.

Muslin Swaddles? I don't think they were around 10 years ago, in the cute patterns they are now. Even in the 4 years since I've had my son there are so many new brands and cute prints.

Something for mom, like nicehand lotion, nicer filling snacks that she can eat one handed? And maybe something special to keep the big kids entertained while she tends to the baby, like a not super messy craft kit or something?

With my second baby I treated myself/ her to new swaddle blankets and new cute burp cloths, since the old ones were pretty gross looking and stained. Sure they were still used to catch spit up but it was nice to have a few cute new ones.

Something I always love getting for my kids from people are the PBK monogrammed or personalized hooded towels or stroller blankets. I wouldn’t buy them for myself but they are adorable and make me smile every time I see them
If you don’t know the name, then maybe a pack of nice swaddles, new water bottle, l’occitaine hand lotion. Sort of a new-ish mom survival kit

For baby #2, a good friend of mine sent me a nice bath robe and some nice bath products for me. It was really nice to have some things to help take care of myself during those early postpartum days.

I’m still wearing the too big fleece robe I bought for myself at Target while pregnant. It’s kind of a house coat and I love it for the winter when it’s chilly. It’s 3/4 length. Maybe a nicer one like the Barefoot Dreams.
My go to baby gift right now is the baby sized Seek & Swoon blanket. They are gorgeous and special.

@youboots: i have a barefoot dreams robe and it is my very favorite thing!
I also say something nice for mom! My grandma got me comfy pretty pajamas and I still wear them 2 years later

I'm having my third, and what I appreciated were things just for the new baby so she didn't have all hand-me-downs--cute outfits, a nice blanket, etc. My oldest is 8, so I can attest that the nice muslin swaddles were not huge back then. I also picked up a bunch of the trendy bandana bibs this time, so cute!! And of course gift cards, even just $5 to Starbucks, was very much appreciated

Another vote for muslin swaddles. That’s one thing I would like to get new for my second (my first still uses hers anyway) but I don’t really want to shell out the money myself!

Some nice chocolates for mom and something newer that she wouldn't have had with the older kids, like a magic Merlin sleepsuit, teething toys, and something for the older kids.

I’m having my 3rd too and I would prob like new outfits that weren’t hand me downs. But with such a big age difference, she prob needs a lot more esp if she got rid of a lot of stuff.

Just had my third. People sent gc and cash as well as muslin blankets and outfits. Not a ton of gifts but I loved getting the fun stuff. And I was somewhat surprised and very appreciative when we got anything because of it being our third!

There's always something "new" that wasn't around for the first kid - for my third (of the same sex; eldest was 4.5 when #3 was born), it was bandana bibs, 360* sippy cups, silicone beaded pacifier teether/paci clips...
The things I appreciated most were the special new baby items like a nice blanket or replacements for things that might have gotten gross....I totally would have felt guilty buying them myself, but was thankful to receive them. Honestly, I'd just ask her! I bet she'll appreciate it, and have a suggestion. Even though I had three of the same sex in quick succession, I needed some clothing items because my first two were summer babies and the third was born in winter.
Lastly, I second to please take something (however tiny!) for the siblings. I usually buy Melissa and Doug sticker crafts (under $5) for younger kids to keep them busy while mom is busy with a baby; for older ones like you mentioned even some kind of blind bag (Shopkins, Hatchimals) or a leisure reading book might be nice.

I agree with the “something new” with each new kid item. There is this thing called binxy baby. It’s something you put across the shopping carts that your baby can lay in. There are also the milk snob car seat covers. I want both of those for my baby #2!

@agold: if you buy for yourself, the copycat milk snob covers sold for $10 on Amazon more than do the job. That was something I bought myself with baby #3 and it’s been so worth it!

I recently had my 3rd and the BEST gifts were the nights I didn't have to cook!! Bring a meal or giftcard for takeout!

I think the food/delivery service gift cards sound like a fabulous idea! I also like to gift babies cardigans/sweater jackets in about 18 month sizes (or whatever size is seasonally appropriate) since I feel like those can be worn for a bit longer.
