Someone I know is grieving the loss of a loved one and need cheering up. It's been a few months, but she's still very depressed. I live abroad so I can't be there physically, but I was hoping to hear some gift ideas for inspiration.
Thank you!

I think you can't go wrong with a nice flower delivery just to say you are thinking of them. And anything that lets the grieving person know you remember their loved one too is nice. I sent flowers to my grandpa on my grandmother's birthday to put on her grave, and he was so touched because to him it felt like the rest of the world was just moving on and no one else was missing her daily like he was (because everyone was afraid to bring her up to him). Frame a picture of them together? Send a funny book or little piece of jewellery, and say "this made me think of X."

@SugarplumsMom: I would do some kind of self care thing, like gift card for a mani/pedi or massage. And maybe also movie tickets or tickets for something fun she can do.

What about a selection of treats from where you live? I know international shipping is expensive, but I think it would be so cool to receive a hand selected gift in this case.

I was going to suggest the same as Lamariniere. I feel special when I receive treats that aren't generally available. And she will know you spent some time collecting them for her.

Honestly, anything at all. In these moments, it really is the thought that counts. When my mom died, people sent food, flowers, books, stuffed animals, other little trinkets, and I appreciated all of it. That's probably not so helpful, so I will say that I forget some of the trinkets but I do remember some of the food.
