When I was pregnant I always went by weeks. However I had some friends who went by months and it always threw me off. I had to mentally calculate how many weeks it was.
Did you go by weeks or months?

i go by weeks. especially now at the end, being 36 weeks I'm 9 months - and people get confused when you say that, like, Oh! you're done then? nope - 4 more weeks people!

I went by weeks when pregnant. But men never seem to get weeks, so I always translated into months with them.

@hellobeeboston: yeah it's so confusing to people that technically you are 10 months at 40 weeks... not 9.. and really pregnancy is 38 weeks long (if you go to 40) because you're not pregnant the first two weeks. It's all really confusing unless you go through it.

I went by weeks for myself, but when talking to others who weren't recently up on the whole pregnancy thing, I'd go by months for simplicity's sake.

I think next time I may go by months and not share my specific due date!

I say I'm 32 weeks but that I have about 2 months left. The math makes my head hurt!

Generally I subtract how many months between now and my due date. I'm due in early january so I say 6 months even though by weeks I'm 6.5 months. If I'm talking to another prego or a recent mom I use weeks.

@oliviaoblivia: yeah I often had people ask me, "um, how many months is that?" so then I had to think... I guess when you're pregnant you don't always think that other people don't know how many weeks correspond with the months lol!

I say weeks to anyone who is/was pregnant. Anyone else, I say months, which people who aren't versed in the pregnant world say is way easier to grasp.

I go by months and don't share the due date. Only other pregnant ladies/recent mamas care about the weeks anyway!

Weeks when talking to other moms or friends, but other people I usually do months. I used to get weird looks when I would give weeks!

weeks for dh and myself, but months for when ppl ask how far along i am

Always weeks. I'll say I'm __ weeks and then I'll add how many more until my due date (since not everyone knows pregnancy is 40 weeks). For example, right now I'd say I'm 37 and a half weeks, 2 and a half weeks until DD!

I go by weeks but sometimes I get a blank stare so I do quick math and give them months

I go by weeks. Then I find that people try to calculate that into months by dividing by 4. Even though a month is 4.3 weeks, not 4 weeks. Confusing...

@Thehistoryofus: yepp! totally agree.
I went by weeks but next time I am not sharing my DD and just going in general by months. I already have had people texting me asking me where baby is....um, i'm 12 days away still! leave me alone! It's still September for goodness sakes.

I'm same as @mrsjyw - I go by weeks with DH and myself (and if my friends have already been pregnant) and then months with everyone else. Easier to say (about/a little over/almost 4 months).
