and I feel so guilty for leaving her for such a long period of time!!!
Especially because she has not been napping during the day. And is in constant gas pain.
My mom will be watching her so at least I know she'll be in good hands.

The first time I left LO alone for more than a couple of hours was when she was about 6 weeks old...I was gone for about 6 hours and I felt sooooo guilty, I cried during my massage (a friend was treating me to some girl time)!

aww thanks everyone!!!
It was nice to see everyone, there was family in town we haven't seen in a while. And we were seated with immediate cousins and they are always fun to hang out with.
But I thought about baby the whole time!!! I wanted to book out of there as soon as dinner was done. But we waited till almost 9 then of course you have ot make the rounds to say good bye. We got home shortly before 10pm.
During the ceremony my mom called me...twice in a row. I thought oh no....how are we going to leave during the ceremony w/o letting the b&g know??? Baby must be freaking out for my mom to call TWICE in a row!!! So I duck out to call her back...turns out she was just asking if we fed the dog yet. haha Minor heart attack mom!
Wanted to call and check in immediately after the ceremony but thought if baby was freaking out it will stress my mom more to have to hold a baby and talk to me on the phone. So I waited till 730ish. Baby was fussy, still had not napped. Crying her lungs out. Mom told me not to worry and eat!
Called as we were heading home and baby did not nap the whole time we were gone but for 30 minutes. So my poor mom dealt with a fussy baby for almost 6hrs. She scarfed down some of her dinner at 8 while holding baby. I felt so bad!!
3 weeks was definitely too soon for me to be gone for so long!!! If it weren't close family we're really friendly with I think we would have stayed home....now I'm reconsidering a close friend's wedding in July. Even tho we already RSVPed...
P.S. my boobs were SUPER engorged!!! I nursed before we left and ran out of time to pump. And did not have forethought to put the ice packs in the fridge so could not take my pump with me. I pumped 4oz when we got home, could have pumped more but was afraid baby would wake up and I would be unable to nurse. Took 4 nursing throughout the night and this morning to get my boobs back to soft.
@WiLLoWtReE: I hope it goes well for you! I think if she was not having a fussy week and I knew she was just sleeping anyway I would have been able to relax more. But knowing she was crying and I wasn't there was hard.

@regberadaisy: July is a long time away. You can still do it. Re-evaluate again then.
Your mom is a trooper! And you made it! Yay!

We went to a wedding recently and it was also the first time I left LO for so long. Plus the wedding was an hour away. But it was actually pretty nice to have that time with DH and not worry about having to rush back because LO was sleeping anyway. Usually we go to dinner and try to get back a little before her bed time.
